From the composer: “haven’t yet is a deeply personal work for me about relationships, thought life, and patience. For myself and many other q***r people, the kind of relationships and openness cisgender, straight people experience is often delayed (if we’re lucky to experience it at all). There is a pervasive feeling of being behind, having such formative experiences occur later in life…From daydream to self-deprecation, frustration to repentance and patience. It’ll happen.”

Enjoy this clip of FILTH by Robin Haigh from the 2026 festival performed in Ruston’s historic Dixie Center for the Arts. From the composer: “FILTH was commissioned by the German ensemble Treppenhausorchester, to be included in their DISCO project - a high-energy concert series where audiences dance to EDM-style pieces played live by an amplified chamber orchestra. As part of the group’s extensive tours, FILTH has been performed at Beethovenfest Bonn, Istanbul Music Festival, Mozartfest Würzburg, and at a sold-out concert in the Elbphilharmonie’s 2100 capacity main hall.”

That's a wrap on one decade of new music. Composer Clem Pearson's piece, Foxfire, was a runner-up for the 2026 Black Bayou Composition Award. Congratulations again, Clem!

CHANGE OF LOCATION UPDATE: Concert 9 will occur at 11a in the Biedenharn Recital Hall on the campus of ULM. After the performance, we will travel to the Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge for a catered meal behind the Conservation Learning Center at 12:15p.
