Meet your 2025 Evergreen Junior Dairy Show Judge, Gregory Silva.
Gregory Silva, from Hanford, California, USA, has been employed by Select Sires Member Cooperative for the past 29 years. He is a Select Mating Service Evaluator and salesman, and is responsible for serving the leading dairy area of Central California.
Greg and his three children own and operate Silvalley Holsteins and Jerseys where they have shown, marketed and fitted cattle throughout the United States. The Silva’s have owned and bred multiple All American and All Canadian nominated animals.
While attending College of the Sequoias, Greg was named the overall High Individual at the World Dairy Expo judging contest and was High Individual of the Holstein and Guernsey breeds.
Greg is one of the founding co-chairmen of the annual Western Classic Junior Dairy Show, one of the largest and most elite junior dairy shows in the world.
Greg has been judging shows and fairs for the past 25 years across the USA and internationally. These shows and fairs include the National Brown Swiss Show at International Dairy Week in Australia, the National Holstein and Jersey Shows in Costa Rica, the Okayama Prefecture Holstein Show in Okayama, Japan, and the Contricampo Holstein and Jersey shows in Novo, Brazil. Stateside, he has judged numerous county fairs, State Fairs, and State Holstein Shows in California, Nevada, Idaho, and Colorado.
