Scouts BSA Troop 81, Monroe, GA

Pack 64 and Troop 64 of Social Circle joined Troop 81 this afternoon at the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Monroe to honor and pay tribute to America's fallen heroes on this Memorial Day today at 3pm as part of Taps Across America.

Thank you so much to Pack 64 and Troop 64 for joining us today and as the grandchild of a fallen hero I would like to thank everyone across the Nation who honored all of our fallen heroes today!

During our trip to Chatahoochee Bend State Park, our scouts participated in hiking, corn hole tournament, and some free time. The hiking was 5 miles and it took us around 2 hours and 30 minutes. The corn hole tournament lasted around 2 hours and Nic and Jared came out in top as victorious. During free time people took naps, played games and watched movies. Overall, everyone had a fun time. Would reccomend again!

Curren's Eagle project...

Loganville has a new history champion!

Eagle Scout Curren Musser recently completed a project to help share the story of his hometown. Curren earned his Eagle rank in February and chose to honor his hometown of Loganville by researching its history and installing historical marker signs for the Loganville Historical Society.

Three markers have already been installed around town:
• Kelly Park near the gazebo
• Next to the Loganville Well
• The courtyard by Rock Gym

Curren is a member of Troop 81 in Monroe and has been involved in scouting since first grade with Cub Scout Pack 535 in Loganville. He will graduate from Loganville High School this May.

Patty Ann Design & Signs had the honor of producing the printed inserts for the markers, and we love seeing young leaders like Curren passionate about sharing the stories that make Loganville special.

Keep an eye out around town. Five more historical markers are planned in the coming years.

This past Friday night at the Gladiators vs Iceman hockey game, Troop 81 participated in presenting the flag in the national banner. The game ended in a close 6-5 with the gladiators winning a death match. Some members also appeared on the jumbo tron with some dancing flare. Troop 81 had a blast and we will likely do again if we had the chance
