The Ampy Community Center was created in 2006 with the goal of helping residents of the Kingsway Apartments and surrounding community "move-in,move-up and move-out." The center is located within the Kingsway Apartments property and currently has 16 computers that are equipped with Internet access, educational games, and Microsoft Office and other software to help users achieve greater levels of self-sufficiency.

Wednesday February 22,2012 from 10am to 2pm there will be Job Fair at the Monroe Civic Center. If you are planning to attend ask your friends or volunteer to take 2 or 3 passengers with you.....there are some people who want to go, but are unable to because of transportation issues. PAY IT FORWARD!!!

Our partner meeting was a success...alot of fresh ideas. I would like to thank our partners, Pastor Stewart Robinette of Calvary Temple Church of the Harvest, Carolyn Dugan, sat in for Reverend Oliver Reuben of St. Joe's Baptist Missionary Church, and our new partner Minister Milton Mcgee, who attended in behalf of Pastor Paul Ford of House of Prayer International. Minister Milton and Pastor Paul is starting a new program entitled "Success for Young Men", the mission of success for young men is:
1. To form a relationship with young men ages 10-18 and help them form a closer relationship with god and each other.

2. To Provide them opportunities for growth through outings, study, discussions, sports, the arts, role playing, etc.

3. To help them develop positive life skills that will lead to success.

4. To provide a forum where young men can express themselves and be heard.

The first meeting is Monday January 23rd from 4p to 5p.

The honorable Mayor Jamie Mayo also stopped by to not only show his support but to provide valuable resources to help the Ampy sustain.

Monroe, LA-The holidays are a busy time of year at the Ampy Community Center. The centers’ annual holiday events have revitalized the entire community. These events at the Ampy Center bring together residents, volunteers, community leaders, churches, businesses, and neighbors.
