TWO DAYS UNTIL HALLOWEEN!
This year's Halloween fun will kickoff in Monroe on Halloween Eve or Friday, October 30th with two local events:

- MGS Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat on Friday the 30th from 5-7 p.m. at the Monroe Grade School gym and parking lot. There will be games, a haunted hallway, candy and prizes for the kids! This is a FREE event. Hosted and organized by the Monroe Grade School - Parent Teacher Group

- Halloween Movie Event with Ghostbusters (1984) showing at BlueBird Hill Cellars' on Friday the 30th after the MGS Fall Festival & Truck or Treat. Gates open at 5 p.m. and movie starts at or around 7 p.m. Bring blankets, chairs, and layers. The movie will be shown rain or shine! More Halloween fun for kids and the entire family on Halloween - Saturday, October 31st!

The #2026 Monroe Halloween Treat Map is available here, online, with paper maps printed and distributed to local businesses and organizations with Halloween events and activities including Monroe City Hall, Monroe Community Library, Christmas Junction, Monroe Arts Association, Long Timber Brewing Company, South Benton Resource Center, and more!

On Halloween night, don't miss out on the 2026 Halloween Spooktacular at Monroe City Hall from 5-8 p.m.! Join Mayor Dan Sheets and the Monroe City Councilors for the Halloween Spooktacular at Spooky City Hall! We'll have the former library space, between City Hall and the Benton County Sheriff's Office Substation, open for trick-or-treaters of all ages! Check out the spooky decorations, music, and costumes, and of course lots of candy!

UPDATE - 11:15 a.m. - We've received the ALL CLEAR from law enforcement! There is no longer a threat to the community. Law enforcement activity may continue in the area and some roads may remain closed.

URGENT: There is a shelter in place notification in effect for the City of Monroe due to law enforcement activity. Please do not call 911 unless there is an emergency. If you need to evacuate, flag down a Deputy on scene. Note: Monroe Grade School, Monroe High School, and Monroe City Hall are locked down. There will be more information to follow from the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

We are having our monthly Business Association of Monroe (BAM) meeting TONIGHT (i.e., Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) at Bennys Pizza Joint!

We'll network and discuss what we can do to increase business here in Monroe. I believe we are very good at bringing people to Monroe for our big events such as the Monroe Festival, Christmas in July, and the Light Parade but let's discuss other ways, creative ways we can bring business to Monroe. Is it more marketing, social media, websites, or a combination of these and more? We want everyone to share your experiences. What works and what doesn't and how can BAM help your business.

Plus, we do have copies of the 2026 Monroe Map & Business Directory tri-fold brochure printed and ready to hand out to any business in the 97456 zip code.
