We had a great end of season party this week. We celebrated a great season, accomplishments at state, some retiring shooters, all of our coaches, some retiring coaches, and our newly selected Nationals team.

We recognized Chandler Cousins for his great shooting at state by presenting him with the 7th place team plaque as well as Zachary Fendley with the 2nd place team plaque.

We have 4 shooters retiring this year after they all compete at Nationals in July: Olivia Barth, Madisyn Everett, Violet Combs, and Zachary Fendley. These shooters have had great shooting careers and we look forward to them finishing strong in July.

Missed a picture of all the coaches together, but we couldn’t have such an amazing team without great coaches. They were all presented with gifts.

Two of our coaches are hanging up their hats this year after 10 years total with the program, many coaching their own kids and assistant coaching for a few years: Adam and Jennifer Harper. That is me and my husband. Our kids aged out a few years ago and we felt like it was our time to move on to different things. Our daughter will be a senior next year and is playing a new sport so we want to be fully present for all those senior events. We’ve enjoyed all of our time with this team/family and promise to peak in from time to time to see everyone. We’ve truly valued everyone sharing their kids with us and trusting us to lead them to success. Thank you all.

Last but not least, let’s celebrate our National team for 2026.

Our very own, Madisyn Everett, mentioned nationally by Scopos.

The title of the Worlds Largest BB Gun Match goes to the South Dakota 4-H BB Gun Championship, competed this past weekend with 717 athletes! The winning team was Brookings County, and the top athlete was Bailey Gjernes, also from Brookings County.

Not to be outdone, the title of the World’s Largest Single Day BB Gun Match goes to the Georgia 4-H BB Gun Championships, also competed this past weekend with 435 athletes. The winning team of this match was Cook County, and the top athlete Madisyn Everett from Walton County.

Join the Walton County GA Sheriff's Office and Deputies Beyond the Badge for this great fundraising event to benefit our Walton County 4-H SAFE shooting sports teams! This will help pay for our program, additional equipment, and getting our team out to Nationals in Arkansas.

I’ve missed posting a couple of matches (and will get those posted soon), but I have to let you know how this team did at state yesterday. They did their thing once again and had a great day. Our very own Madisyn Everett placed first making her now a double 4H master (team a few years ago). 1st out of 435 shooters!! She stayed calm and steady and just shot her best pulling out above the rest.

Our teams really came together as well. We had 2 teams in the top 10!! First team achieved 2nd place and our second team came in 7th place out of 64 qualifying teams! We had 21 out of 28 shooters make a 100 on the test.

We had another great show out at the Georgia Games! We came away with 1st and 3rd place teams and a ton of individual awards. This match had categories for male and female in various age groups. Next up is our last home match this weekend which is our state qualifying match for area.

This weekend we are shooting Georgia Games in Carrollton. Shoot em straight kids!!!

Last weekend we shot outside in Wilkes County. It was a small match and our teams really showed out. We had the top 4 teams, the top 9 returning shooters, and the top new shooter. Freya Combs and Holland Day took the top spots for the team. There were also many other individual placements. See details below in pictures.
