✂️ Get Ready for the QUILT SHOW! ✂️

The North Louisiana Quilters Guild (NLQG) is excited to announce an upcoming quilt show that promises to showcase creativity, skill, and the love of quilting within our community. Among our talented quilters is LaVerne Anderson from the Sunshine chapter, a passionate quilt-maker with a decade of experience under her belt.

LaVerne specializes in T-shirt quilts and memory quilts, transforming cherished fabrics into beautiful keepsakes that tell a story. “Most of the quilts I make are commissioned memory quilts from friends and family,” she shares. These quilts serve as a heartfelt reminder of special moments, preserving memories in a tangible form.

In her latest creation, LaVerne has crafted an enchanting wall hanging featuring a butterfly motif. “I love butterflies!” she exclaims. The t-shirt quilt in the accompanying photo showcases her ability to blend personal meaning with artistic flair. “My grandmother and aunt would quilt on a (saw) horse frame in my grandmother's home when I was a child. This was my first experience with quilting,” she fondly recalls.

Join us at the NLQG Quilt Show to see LaVerne's stunning work, along with many other artistic creations from local quilters. This event is not just an exhibition; it's a celebration of community, creativity, and the art of quilting. Whether you're a seasoned quilter or simply curious about the craft, there's something for everyone!

✨"I HAVE A QUILT IN THE QUILT SHOW!"✨

My quilts will be displayed in the upcoming NLQG QUILT SHOW, hosted by the North Louisiana Quilters Guild on February 27-28 at the West Monroe Convention Center for a celebration of creativity, friendship, and the beautiful art of quilting!

Quilting isn't just a hobby for me; it’s a passion! From picking out fabrics to embracing creativity without a pattern, every step is a journey filled with joy. I cherish my quilting sisters, especially my "Fab 4" group and the entertaining Moonlight Chapter, where laughter thrives.

One of my greatest joys is introducing newcomers to the world of quilting. At my hometown museum, the Union Parish Museum of History and Art in Farmerville, I am proud to teach Beginning Quilter Classes yearly, helping others start their own quilting adventure!

My love for quilting has expanded from a seed planted in my creative family to a vibrant community, sparked during a community education class in 1980. Since then, I've met lifelong friends and created cherished memories through the stories woven into our quilts.

Bring your friends and family, and let’s celebrate the art of quilting together.

Please LIKE & SHARE this post to help us spread the word! I can't wait to see you at the show! 🚙💨
