Meet Larry and Lisa Vaugh. After years of farming, God led them in a new direction—to become on-campus foster parents at the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home. Leaving behind what was familiar, they followed His call to provide children in need with a safe home, loving guidance, stability, and the hope of Christ.

Today at our Compassion Center, we were reminded that God is still changing lives.

During food distribution, two of our volunteers shared a Bible and a Gospel tract with two young men. As a local pastor, Marc from First Baptist Church of Avondale spoke with them about eternity. One man shared that he often thought about death and believed his good deeds would get him into Heaven.

After hearing the Gospel and learning that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ—not our own works—he responded in faith and surrendered his life to Christ.

Please join us in praying for this new believer as he begins his walk with the Lord.

This is why we do what we do. Through one home, eight ministries, and one mission, we seek to provide love, care, and hope in Christ to children and families in need.

Elysia had an amazing time at King's Camp! It was a week where the love of Jesus was poured into her 24/7. She had a blast spending time with the other children and absolutely loved her camp counselors.

When asked what her favorite activity was, she answered without hesitation, "the swimming pool!"

We are so grateful for opportunities like King's Camp , where children can experience fun, friendship, and the life-changing love of Christ. Thank you Baptists

We are so proud of our LBCH team member, Carolyn Fountain, Women's Learning Center ESL Coordinator/Instructor, for being elected as the new National WMU President!

Congratulations, Carolyn! May God guide, strengthen, and bless you as you serve in this new role. We are praying for you!

Carolyn Fountain was elected the 25th president of WMU, SBC during the WMU Missions Celebration and Annual Meeting on June 7, 2026 in Orlando, Florida.

A native of Tallulah, Louisiana, she and her husband of 48 years, Leroy, are members of the Well of Monroe, a church plant of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, Louisiana. Together they serve churches in Northwest Louisiana by helping pastors of church plants and revitalizations incorporate missions into their strategy for church health.

Carolyn also works with the Women’s Learning Center (CWJC), a ministry of the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services in Monroe, Louisiana, where she tutors women in reading and writing as they strive to achieve their HiSet (GED).
