On December 7th we are honored to be hosting a meal packing event to put together meals that will be shipped to Haiti to provide food for children in need.

In case you missed it! Today we discussed Matthew 5:9-12, a continuation of Jesus speaking on the Beatitudes.

In verse 10 Jesus drops the bomb “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”

I wasn’t completely comfortable the first time I read this…and honestly that’s valid. Persecution is not comfortable, but it’s out of uncomfortably that we grow our faith.

Jesus also explains that the people who are being persecuted and insulted should know that they treated Him this way first. Sometimes when you’re getting pushback from the world it just means you’re doing the right thing for the Kingdom.

Don’t be discouraged! We were called to renewed minds, not to conform to the world (Romans 12:2)
