Yesterday morning Chief Giordano, Lieutenant Woerner, & Firefighters Brian & Anthony Giordano attended the graduation of ASAC Class 14, hosted by the CT Fire Academy. This program is a week long Advanced Skills Course for Junior Firefighters; for Students who have already taken ITTFS. Congratulations to Stevenson Junior Jonathan Giordano on successfully completing the course! Junior Firefighting is an integral part part of Volunteer operations. Setting the groundwork of many of our volunteers. If you or your teenager are interested in volunteering message us!

This morning, Chief Giordano & Lieutenant Woerner attended the graduation of ITTFS Class 58, hosted by the CT Fire Academy. This program is a week long introduction to the Fire Service for Junior Firefighters. Congratulations to Stevenson Junior Matt Gill on successfully completing the course!

This afternoon just after 5:30, Stevenson along with Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 Inc. and Stepney Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire in the 1300 block of Monroe Turnpike (Rt111). Crews made a quick knock and kept the fire from spreading. Thankfully the homeowners were home and were able to call us quickly. Thank you to Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service for being on scene with us, especially with the heat. Thank you to our mutual aid partners as well!

Be sure to come out to Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service today for their open house! It’s a beautiful day for it, with lots to see. There are many partners, demonstrations, food and things for the kids to do and see.
