🇺🇸 What an incredible week representing Monroe Area High School and Georgia FCCLA at the National FCCLA Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.!
A heartfelt thank you to our families, supporters, donors, and community for making this opportunity possible. Your generosity and encouragement allowed our students to compete on the national stage and experience our nation’s capital in a way they will never forget.
Our students competed in Promote and Publicize FCCLA and Early Childhood Education, proudly representing our chapter. Although our trip began with a canceled flight and a 14-hour day at the airport, we didn’t let that stop us from making the most of every moment! In addition, Mr. Youngblood was recognized as National FCCLA Educated Adviser
The girls experienced many firsts this week, including their first flight and Major League Baseball game as we cheered on the Washington Nationals. Beyond the competition, we explored some of our nation’s most iconic landmarks and museums, including the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Reflecting Pool, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Museum of the Bible, the National Museum of American History, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
One of the most meaningful experiences was visiting Arlington National Cemetery, where we witnessed the Changing of the Guard and the Wreath Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier—a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for our country.
This week was filled with leadership, learning, history, friendship, and memories that will last a lifetime. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to everyone who helped make this unforgettable experience possible. ❤️🤍💙
