All Junior Optimist Clubs share the same mission, “Kids Helping Kids,” and a resolute determination to choose optimism in the face of adversity. Check out our creed here: https://goo.gl/bR9sXS. Community service is the basis of Junior Optimist Clubs. Our club plans and completes at least one community service project each month. The projects range from visiting a nursing home to hosting Prom for P
ennies, our annual dress sale that benefits Jacob’s SWAG, a su***de awareness and prevention group in Monroe, WI. The sky's the limit. Students like you run their own clubs and meetings, plan events and elect all officers. As a member, you’ll make almost all your Club’s important decisions. From fundraising to tutoring – you, and the rest of the members, run the show! Whether it’s junior high, high school or college, you’ll develop leadership skills at local, regional and national levels. By learning about citizenship, teamwork, communication and organization, you will grow while building impressive credentials for scholarships, college applications, and a résumé. Optimist members write outstanding letters of recommendation. With members coming from all 50 states, several Canadian provinces, and even the Caribbean, you will get to experience other cultures and share unforgettable experiences that you’ll always treasure. Every summer, members from your hometown and all over the world come together at the International Convention to get to know each other, share ideas and talk about tough issues facing teens around the world. You can be sure you’ll make great friends and take home new ideas to improve your leadership, public speaking and team-building abilities. Members describe the youth convention as tons of fun and say it’s one of the best parts of joining! In short, Junior Optimist International lets you do great things for yourself, your school, and your hometown, and have a fantastic time doing it.
