North Delta Regional Planning and Development District, Inc. We cover 11 parishes in NELA with the primary goal in mind to better improve the region. to name a few.

By an Executive Order in 1973, North Delta Regional Planning & Development District, Inc. became one of eight regional planning and development districts created by the Louisiana Legislature. North Delta Regional Planning and Development covers 11 parishes in Northeast Louisiana: Jackson, Union, Morehouse, Caldwell, Richland, West and East Carroll, Madison, Tensas, Franklin, and Ouachita parishes.

The primary goal of our organization is to better improve the region's growth, development, and quality of life for our residents. We promote public collaboration and partnership by providing better public resources such as transportation and improved land use concepts in a continuous effort to promote and progress Northeast Louisiana. Programs conducted by North Delta Regional Planning & Development District, Inc. include planning (OCOG, FHWA, FTA, SAFETY, Reapportionment, etc.), and economic development (EDA, grantsmanship, etc.) We assist our member parishes, including police juries and municipalities, in a variety of ways. We also assist the general public in the furtherance of the public good.

We’re proud to share some exciting news from Austin, TX! 🎉

At the Star of the Southwest Award Showcase, the SWREDA Board of Directors recognized projects that make a meaningful impact on economic vitality across the region—and North Delta was honored for its support of the BRIP (Biomedical Research & Innovation Park) project.

North Delta helped secure $1,750,000 in EDA funding to support critical infrastructure, including road development for the project site.

The proposed BRIP location sits adjacent to the School of Pharmacy on 10 acres, with an additional 20–30 acres available for expansion—creating the potential for a 30–40 acre innovation park right here in Northeast Louisiana.

This project represents a major step forward in advancing research, innovation, and economic growth in our region. We’re excited to be part of what’s ahead!
