Today, we were honored to receive an invitation to attend a parade at our north Monroe Veterans home, courtesy of the DAR. Last night, I took the opportunity to address my group, emphasizing the importance of standing up, despite my own physical pain, which had kept me awake for most of the night. Thankfully, Brenda kindly offered to pick me up, as I am still unable to drive. I chose to focus on the positive and delivered a new talk about blessings. The Blue Star Mother's had created some beautiful floats, and we were treated to ice cream and cake. The entertainment, provided by the three ladies of Southern Grace, was truly exceptional, filling the room with joy and enthusiasm. The audience, comprised of my fellow auxiliary members, ladies, and gentlemen, as well as our little mascot, were all clapping and singing along, making the event truly unforgettable. I was delighted to see some of my auxiliary members in attendance, who were able to assist the Blue Star Mothers with carrying the flag. Although I took numerous photos, I hope they will bring a sense of joy and blessing to those who were unable to attend. Post eighteen 09 and auxiliary was also acknowledged for our presence, which was a great honor. Our quartermaster of post 1809 was recognized as one of the lady veterans, which was a further honor.
