If you've noticed the growing pile of rocks on Erratic over the past few weeks, they've finally been put to use for a new turnpike to cross the mega mud pit!

Over the past few winters, the trail has widened to almost 8 feet as we've all tried to avoid the mud and the 1 foot drop that has formed from erosion leading into the mud pit. The new turnpike helps raise the trail above the wet ground giving everyone a dry way to cross which helps the widened area regrow as it gets less traffic!

Huge thanks to Allan, John and Nick for coming out for what's probably been the gnarliest trail day of moving rock and dirt this year.

This week, the Quarry Loop over at Lord Hill got a turnpike built to help keep this one section of trail high and dry next winter!

If you loathe the wet and muddy trails, this is the time fix it while avoiding the mud, and we've got weekday and weekend trail days posted 7/9, 7/18 and 7/29 to focus on some of the really mucky spots along Erratic and Upper Springboard!

It's been a busy spring with just about 6 miles of singletrack brushed between Lord Hill and Reiter Foothills! If the thorny blackberries and stinging nettles have left you avoiding some of your favorite trails, here's the deets on what we've got brushed this season!

Looking to help? Come on over to the 429th trailhead of Reiter Foothills this Saturday(6/13) starting at 9AM to help brush the upper trails!

Wishbone got its seasonal brush cutting with enough time left to patch up the catch berm at the first chute. While Wishbone hasn't gotten a top to bottom refresh since the 21-22 rainy season, we've been patching up some of the worst spots over the winter and are stoked to get it refreshed come the next rainy season!

The reroute on Meet Cutter is officially opened!

Two months and 450 volunteer hours later, this quarter mile reroute swaps out the steep washed out chute to the road with a more sustainable alternative that also moves the exit closer towards other trail connections.

A huge thanks to Scott for helping on the route planning, both the Monroe Youth Mountain Bike Team and the Snohomish Mountain Bike Team for helping clear the corridor, Greg and Chauncy who’ve helped out a ton of days to get things fine tuned and everyone else who has helped chipped at it over the past 2 months!

We finally started grading the last switchback on the Meet Cutter reroute! Once done, that just leaves a few scattered projects and tidying up to do along the reroute before the rain can help pack it all in.

The reroute on Meet Cutter is getting close! We’ve been doing a bit of everything from embedding some rocks into the trailbed, finishing up some of the bench cut sections, and even got an assist from Lord Hill resident Dave to get the exit tied into the road.

It’s about 90% there, but the last 10% is probably the most work as we’ve got two switchbacks left to build before we start tying up loose ends and hopefully wrap things up in early May. As always, thanks to everyone who’s been helping chip away at this!

Closing out the week strong, the Monroe Youth Mountain Bike Team put in some serious work to get the last half of the Meet Cutter all roughed out with enough time for a quick loamy test lap. Thanks to the 22 riders, coaches and families from the team who came out Friday and made a huuuuge push on this project! Special thanks to Greg Williams for supplying the pizza!

We’re now moving fully onto getting the reroute all dialed in! Building switchbacks, grading for drainage and fine tuning the trail to make those twists and turns feel natural. Work parties are posted for April to continue the work. Deets on the website!
