Grace, from day one of Miss Michigan week, I knew you could do anything your heart desires. You are not only one of the hardest-working people I know, but one of the kindest, too. Thank you for being the best roomie ever, and for being my forever friend.

Michigan is so lucky to have you. 💛

Thank you to Miss Monroe County Board and Directors—Dione Oerther, Alexis Humason, Brooklynn Lambert, Sydney Papenhagen, Laurie Loveland, Tracy Oberleiter, Jacqueline Wellman, Karen Bellino, Sheila Bussell, Alana Garant, Tiffany Gerweck, Randi Liedel, Susan Vanisacker, Madalyn Poupard, and to the additional volunteers of the program who pour so much love and passion into making Miss Monroe one of the greatest locals in the state.

There are millions of reasons why I wanted the opportunity and honor of being Miss Monroe County, one of them being the privilege of spending this year surrounded by such incredible people.

I knew that whether or not the crown ended up on my head, I would still walk away with their support, love, and friendship in my life. That is the beauty of the Miss Monroe program—you are poured into, believed in, and supported no matter what.

Thank you for everything you do for us women in helping us become more confident, capable, and prepared, not only for Miss Michigan, but for whatever life may throw our way.

Each of you holds such a special place in my heart, and I hope you know how much your unwavering belief in me means.

Thank you for your endless support and for being here every step of the way. I am so incredibly grateful to call you my board, my mentors, and my Miss Monroe family. I am so beyond excited for this year with you! ❤️😍

Had such a beautiful day yesterday at the Hot Summer Nights fundraiser for Gabby’s Grief Center! Sienna and I got to meet so many wonderful friends of Monroe County, sell raffle tickets, see lots of incredible cars, and paint rocks for the Legacy Garden! 🏎️❤️

One of my favorite moments was seeing our forever Miss America, Kaye Lani, and her Corvette that she rode in during the Miss America Atlantic City parade — and, for the first time ever, seeing her crown in person! Kaye Lani is genuinely such a light to this world, and it was so incredible to chat with her throughout the day and hear about some of her favorite memories. 🥹👑

Another moment that really stayed with me was chatting with a wonderful woman who told me about the kitten she rescued who has since become her best friend. She explained how she felt like her cat understood her on a completely different level (sound familiar?). She then told me about a time she forgot to take her heart medication and woke up to her cat pouncing on her chest — ultimately saving her life.

It was such a beautiful reminder of why I fight so hard for animal welfare. As much as we rescue them, they can save us right back. 🐾❤️

In real time, I’m creating memories that I know I’ll cherish forever. ❤️

Miss Dione 🥹❤️

To know her is to love her.

I first started my journey to become Miss Monroe County when I was 17 years old. One of the reasons I came back? A pinky promise.

I always knew becoming Miss Monroe County was a dream I couldn’t let go of. I also knew I had some growing and soul-searching to do (or, little did I know, a cat to find 🐈‍⬛).

When I told Miss Dione I needed some time to find myself, she reminded me, “Once a Monroe girl, always a Monroe girl.” She told me to take all the time I needed and asked me to pinky promise her that I would come back.

One thing about me: a pinky promise will never be broken.

Rescuing Lamb was the moment I found my purpose and realized I have a mission to accomplish. I realized that animals save lives, and that they need us now more than ever.

Walking into orientation in 2025, there was Dione—with a beaming smile and the biggest hug waiting for me. ❤️

Miss Dione, thank you for believing in me before I knew how to believe in myself. Thank you for praying for me, seeing my heart, loving me unconditionally, and reminding me that I am deserving of this opportunity after all these years.

Thank you for all the hard work you pour into this program and for your dedication to taking care of ALL of your girls.

You are the kind of woman I will always strive to be. You have an incredible gift for making people feel seen and loved, and I hope you never doubt the impact you have made on my life.

Thank you for reminding me that no matter what, we just gotta “keep on trucking!” 🚚❤️

Today we celebrate the dogs who have are part of the family, and pray for the ones awaiting their forever home. 🤍
