Today, we're turning the spotlight on someone who is always finding creative ways to shine it on others!

As our Community Specialist Supervisor in Hannibal, Rhian has a gift for capturing the moments, people, and stories that make LOQW special. She's the creative mind behind our page, and while she may prefer to stay out of the spotlight herself, we think she deserves a little time in it!

A Dish Above the Rest! 🍽️

LOQW is proud to recognize Curtis and our community employment partner, the Clarence Care Center!

Curtis has been part of the Clarence Care Center team since 2000! 🤯 For 26 years, he has worked in the dietary department, washing dishes and helping pass meals to residents.

Curtis enjoys his work and, especially, the opportunity to get to know the residents and build relationships with his coworkers. His years of dedication reflect the value of meaningful employment and the lasting connections that come with being part of a team.

Thank you, Curtis, for all you do, and thank you to Clarence Care Center for supporting an inclusive workplace where employees can contribute, connect, and thrive! ❤️

What does a job coach do? They help turn employment goals into real-life success! Through encouragement, guidance, and teamwork, job coaches help individuals build skills, grow in their roles, and reach their goals.

LOQW is proud to spotlight Adam, who works at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, MO, in the activities department. Adam loves engaging with residents, and his job has helped him achieve BIG milestones, including purchasing his own home and enjoying trips! 🏡🏝️☀️

Behind every success story is a team working together to make opportunities possible. We’re proud of Adam and grateful for the job coaches and employers who help make it happen!

A Pirate with Pride! 🏴‍☠️❤️

LOQW is proud to recognize Sara and her contributions to the Hannibal Public School District #60!

A Hannibal High School alum and proud Pirate, Sara has been part of the district’s team for over a decade! At the Early Childhood Center (ECC), she works in the cafeteria, ensuring dishes are clean, equipment is wiped down, and everything is ready for students each day.

Sara takes pride in her work, and her attention to detail shines through, literally! ✨ In the photo below, you can see two Saras reflected in the equipment as she uses Fine Shine to give the kitchen a thorough wipe-down.

We’re proud to celebrate Sara’s dedication and the important role she plays in keeping the ECC running smoothly. Keep up the good work, Sara! 👏🏻

Happy Week! 🎉

LOQW would like to recognize and thank the many Service Coordinators we have the privilege of working alongside throughout our communities.

Service Coordinators play an important role in supporting individuals with disabilities across the lifespan. They help connect individuals and families to services, resources, and supports that promote independence, choice, inclusion, and quality of life. Their collaboration helps ensure individuals have the support they need to reach their goals and live life to the fullest.

We are grateful for the knowledge, dedication, and compassion they bring to the individuals and families they serve every day. Strong partnerships make a difference, and we appreciate all that you do!

Building Skills for a Successful Future!

Meet Dallas! 👋🏻

Dallas graduated HS last year and transitioned directly into employment with the Hannibal Public School District #60, returning to his alma mater to work in the bus barn. His responsibilities include checking buses, keeping them clean, and helping ensure they are ready for students every day!

Dallas began building his skills while still in high school through the BEST program and summer Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) work programs. During his senior year, he also gained valuable experience working in nonclinical healthcare support services at Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. These experiences helped him develop workplace skills, build professional references, and gain a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in the workforce.

Dallas’s journey is a great example of how early work experiences and school-to-work transition programs can help prepare students for employment after graduation.

Keep up the great work, Dallas! 👏🏻

Ann, LOQW’s Hannibal Administrative Assistant, recently had a little hand surgery repair, so our YES team stopped by to deliver some cheer and remind her she’s missed on behalf of the Hannibal team.
