Core Value #2: Service

We don’t want to simply talk about our faith. We want to live it.

James 2 reminds us that faith without works is dead. If revival is truly transforming us on the inside, eventually there should be fruit on the outside. It should affect the way we love people, notice needs, serve our neighbors, and show up in our communities.

For Revive Northeast Iowa, service does not mean reinventing the wheel.

There are already incredible churches, ministries, and organizations faithfully serving people throughout Northeast Iowa. Pregnancy centers. Food shelves. Homeless shelters. Local outreach ministries. And so many others.

One of our desires is to come alongside what God is already doing — supporting, strengthening, volunteering, connecting resources, and helping existing ministries wherever we can.

At the same time, we want to pay attention to places where there may still be unmet needs.

One area we are currently exploring is developing an inner healing cohort and prayer ministry with a storefront space where inner healing ministries and prayer sessions can take place. Our hope is to create a safe, Christ-centered place where people can receive prayer, encounter Jesus in the places where they are hurting, and have others walk alongside them as they pursue healing and freedom.

We don't want Revive Northeast Iowa to simply be another organization that holds gatherings.

We want to be people who see needs, meet needs, and share hope.

Because when Jesus transforms a life, that transformation should eventually touch the lives around us.

Core Value #1: Prayer & Worship

Everything flows from here.

At the heart of prayer and worship is communion with God.

Before ministry, before service, before strategy, before trying to accomplish something for God, we want to be a people who know how to simply be with Him.

In Luke 10, Martha was busy serving while Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, listening to Him. Jesus said that Mary had chosen what was better.

That picture matters to us.

Prayer and worship events are not just about having a service or singing songs. They are about making space to sit at the feet of Jesus, listen to His voice, worship Him, and allow the Holy Spirit to shape and transform us.

One of the visions of Revive Northeast Iowa is to host rotational prayer and worship gatherings throughout the counties of Northeast Iowa. Our desire is for these gatherings to move from county to county, bringing believers from different churches, denominations, and communities together with one focus: Jesus.

One month we may gather in one county, and the next month somewhere else, creating opportunities throughout the region for the Body of Christ to come together in prayer, worship, and communion with God.

Different churches. Different communities. Different traditions.

One Body. One Jesus.

Before we ask, “What can we do for God?” we want to learn to sit at His feet and ask, “Jesus, what are You saying? What are You doing? How can we join You?”

Revive Northeast Iowa is being built around three core values:

These values help shape how we believe revival can be lived out throughout Northeast Iowa.

We believe revival is more than an event. It begins with personal transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit, and from there, that transformation should begin to affect our actions, our character, our relationships, and the fruit of our lives.

As individuals are transformed, we believe that impact can spread into families, churches, schools, businesses, communities, and beyond.

That is part of the heart behind our three core values: seeking God through Prayer & Worship, putting our faith into action through Service, and working together as the Body of Christ through Collaboration.

Transforming lives. Strengthening communities. Advancing God’s Kingdom across Northeast Iowa.

Over the next week, we’ll take a closer look at each of these core values and what they mean for Revive Northeast Iowa.

Revive Northeast Iowa is a movement of believers united by one powerful vision: to see revival sweep through the heart of Iowa.

We are an officially registered Iowa nonprofit, currently pursuing our 501(c)(3) status, with a growing Board of Directors and leadership team committed to prayer, service, unity, and community impact.

We're looking for individuals who share a passion for spiritual renewal and community transformation, including:

💙 Our hearts are with the community of Postville.

Many families are facing uncertainty after the devastating fire at the Agri Star plant. We are thankful that no injuries have been reported, but we recognize the significant impact this will have on employees, their families, first responders, local businesses, and the entire community.

As the Body of Christ, this is a time to come together in prayer and compassion.

Please join us in praying:
🙏 For the workers and families who have suddenly lost their source of income.
🙏 For wisdom for community leaders and organizations coordinating relief efforts.
🙏 For strength and protection over the firefighters, emergency personnel, and volunteers.
🙏 For God's provision, peace, and hope to surround everyone affected.

Our thoughts are with the Postville community as we follow the news of today's devastating fire at the local meat processing facility. We recognize the uncertainty and challenges this event may bring for employees, families, and the entire community.

The Allamakee County Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque are working closely with local nonprofits, community leaders, and emergency response partners to assess emerging needs and identify meaningful ways to support recovery as the situation unfolds.
