CAA Commercial Member of the Year

The CAA Commercial Member of the Year Award recognizes a Commercial Member whose commitment, partnership and support have made a meaningful contribution to the California Ambulance Association and its members.

Selected by the CAA Board of Directors, the award acknowledges an organization that has gone beyond simply doing business with the ambulance community. It recognizes a true industry partner — one that actively participates in the Association, supports its programs and initiatives, shares expertise and resources, and demonstrates a genuine commitment to the success of CAA members and the broader ambulance profession.

The award is CAA’s opportunity to recognize and thank a Commercial Member whose engagement, generosity and partnership exemplify what it means to be an active and valued part of the CAA community.

Liza Lane, President and Founder of Revenue Lane and Chair of the CAA Payer Issues Committee, is the recipient of the 2026 Harvey Hall President’s Leadership Award, recognizing her exceptional leadership, commitment and service to the Association and its members.

The award was presented during CAA’s 78th Annual Conference, The Next Shift: Adapt and Innovate, held September 23–24 at the Westin Anaheim Resort.

The Harvey Hall President’s Leadership Award is presented at the discretion of the CAA President to an individual who, in the President’s view, has gone above and beyond in their service to the Association and its members. It recognizes someone who gives freely of their time, expertise and energy, steps forward when leadership is needed, and makes a meaningful contribution to strengthening CAA and the ambulance community it represents.

The California Ambulance Association Board of Directors and Committee Chairs met this week in Sacramento for our 2027 strategic planning session. CAA members considering running for 2027 Board seats were also attended.

Led by CAA President Steve Grau, the session provided an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made, build on our successes and focus firmly on what comes next. With clear and achievable goals, we set our priorities for 2027, including our legislative agenda, programs, events and broader strategic direction.

Our thanks to Medic Ambulance Service for generously hosting us and providing the use of their boardroom and facilities.

We head into 2027 prepared, focused and ready to deliver — and look forward to working with California’s new Governor, the Legislature, our partners and stakeholders to continue advancing the interests of California’s ambulance providers, professionals and the communities we serve.

Again congrats to one of our amazing Life Assist CAASE award winners.

We’re proud to be recognized for excellence in cardiac arrest care!

Our Riverside High-Performance Resuscitation Team (RHeaRT) has been named a 2026 California Ambulance Association Service Excellence (CAASE) Award winner in the Clinical Service and Patient Outcome Project category.

RHeaRT brings together ambulance clinicians, fire departments, medical directors, educators and quality-improvement specialists across Riverside County to deliver a standardized model of high-performance resuscitation. Through consistent training, ongoing performance review and multiagency collaboration, the program strengthens cardiac arrest response and improves patient outcomes across the community.

The CAASE Awards celebrate ambulance organizations that are advancing patient care, strengthening their communities, supporting their employees and developing innovative solutions to the challenges facing emergency medical services. We are honored to be among the six programs recognized this year and are proud to be part of a community of EMS professionals across California who continue to innovate and advance emergency medical care.
