Monmouth Cochnewagan Trailblazers

Monmouth Cochnewagan Trailblazers We are a Snowmobile and ATV club. We groom and maintain a snowmobile trail system in Monmouth. Our trails are NOT open to ATVs.

They are Snowmobile ONLY trails at this time. We travel to other areas as a group to ride ATVs on different trail systems.

Good morning from Trailmaster John. Unfortunately we will be closing trails today due to lack of snow and warm temperatures. Please respect landowners. This closure is to help keep our trails for the next snowmobile season. If we have a fluke storm that provides more snow, we will consider re-opening the trails. Watch for updates.

Had a land owner contact me today about a sled just riding through his woods and a brook just to do it we guess . No other reason. The trails are marked and groomed why can’t people stay on them.😡☹️

If anyone still wonders why trails are being closed.....here is your sign.

This little 100 foot disrespect trail, (that goes over a flowerbed btw) cuts a corner on a groomed trail going to the gas station in town. Absolutely no need to go off the marked trail.

As a parent of a 10 yr old rider I have had to educate him on why we cant do things like this. He isnt perfect, and none of us are. If he wants to have trails when he has kids of his own, the current mindset has to change.

If you are an adult and disrespecting landowners like this, be a better person. If you are a parent of a young rider, educate them. We love seeing all the people out getting to ride. Please help the club keep the trails we have.

The trailblazers worked with the fire department to do another training with our rescue sled. We try to do this once a season to keep ourselves and the local rescue personnel trained in response to outdoor winter rescues that require snowmobiles to gain access to remote woods or lakes . We respond with our rescue sled that we keep in our clubhouse and our members get a group text requesting our assistance to an accident. We respond with personal sleds as well to transport rescue personnel and equipment in to the scene. This training keeps us sharp and everyone learns something that make the response better and fast as time is crucial in cold temperatures. Thanks to all that came out for the training and as always we hope we never have to use it but hopefully we will be ready to assist it saving lives when we are called on.

This is a big loss for all the area riders. All because of a few that can’t follow the wishes of of a landowner.☹️🤨😡

TRAIL CLOSURE NOTICE!!!

23C From Maranacook lake south side to north side (Trestle bypass) and 23c towards Berry Pond and Wayne is closed. Ropes and no snowmobiling signs have been put up at the lake access points.

The landowner with the property outlined in orange has closed their property to us due to ongoing issues with speed, off trail riding and general disrespect.

This trail is important to local riders due to it being the only safe route around the Rail Road Trestle and the open water under it. If anyone has ideas or would like to head up the search for another trail location please reach out to us.

Good evening, Trail master here. Most of the trails were groomed tonight. The few sections that didn’t get done will be gone over tomorrow evening. A big thanks to all the volunteers that have been a part of keeping the trails groomed this season. It wouldn’t be possible without all the hard work.

I would like to thank Route 202 pizza and Grill for making sandwiches and pizza for our open house/membership night. We wanted to support one of our business members and bought our refreshments from them. Everything was on time and delicious. And thank you as well for the gift card you donated for a door prize and we didn’t even plan to ask. Again thank you for taking good care of us. 👍
