Did you know school buses are the safest way for students to travel to and from school? We owe that peace of mind to our amazing drivers! According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), students are about 70 times more likely to get to school safely taking a school bus than traveling by car. School buses are the most regulated vehicles on the road!

This week, let’s do our part to make their jobs easier:
🔹 Slow down in school zones and near bus stops.
🔹 Always stop when red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended.
🔹 Remind students to stay seated and keep aisles clear so drivers can focus on the road.

Here is today's bus safety fact:
The "Danger Zone" Rule: The danger zone, is the 10-foot area around all sides of the school bus where the driver cannot see students.
Family Tip: Teach kids to take 5 giant steps (about 10 feet) away from the front, sides, and back of the bus so the driver can always see them clearly.

It’s National School Bus Safety Week, and the MMS PTO wants to extend a HUGE thank you to the incredible drivers who keep our students safe every single day! Rain, snow, or shine, our drivers are the first warm smile our kids see in the morning and the ones who deliver them safely home.

🚌 Parents & Families: Take a moment this week to give a wave, send a thank-you note, or drop a comment below sharing a shout-out for your child's driver! Let's show them how much MMS appreciates their dedication!

We are looking for donations to help us with Bus Driver Appreciation. If you can donate please comment below what you can help with! We have a total of 13 to provide for!

Fruits (prepackaged)
Veggies (prepackaged)
Sausage (cooked/warm for breakfast food)
Juice
Assorted snacks
Assorted candies
Plastic Cups
Paper Plates

Thank you for any donation that you are able to provide, please drop off to the school of reach out to the PTO directly for help with a pick up.

Items are needed by Monday the 19th please!

Celebrating Our School Nutrition Heroes! 🥦🍕

This week is National School Lunch Week, and the MMS PTO wants to extend a giant THANK YOU to our school cafeteria and nutrition staff!

Behind every delicious, balanced lunch tray is a team that works early mornings and busy afternoons to care for our kids. We are so lucky to have such dedicated staff making sure our students get tasty, nutritious meals every school day.

Summer may be over, but we’re just getting warmed up! Join us for our monthly PTO meeting as we rake up new ideas, dish out school updates, and plan some unbe-LEAF-able events for our students.
