Two weeks ago, and today, were extremely difficult. Because of the changes in my life, I took 12 of my 16 cats to the Peoria County Humane Society. They take owner surrender cats from outside of their county provided they have room. Two weeks ago I took 5 cats. Today, 7. They charge a very small fee to surrender a cat. Even though I’m extremely sad that I had to do this, I know that they are in a safe place and have a good chance to have another home soon. I have been taking care of homeless cats for almost 30 years. It’s taken its toll on me, physically, emotionally and mentally. I will be taking Gypsy and Eliza Rose with me to Pennsylvania. My youngest daughter has her 2 cats, and will keep 2 of mine.

In order: Murphy, Ella, Jasmine, Rayne, Mystic, Sierra, Lexa, Gabe, Sam, Lincoln, Peaches, Raven.

It’s been quite a while since I have posted anything. Since my last post, we’ve had 2 cats cross the Rainbow Bridge. Leah, and Pumba. They will be forever missed.

I started the video after Leah had been smacking the cord for the lamp a couple of minutes, so she didn’t do it for the video very long. She’s one of our older cats, and she has a heart problem and has to take lasix. So it’s nice to see her play once in awhile.

Murphy playing for a hot minute. She saw me and decided she was done. 🤣

Feeding time. Eliza Rose, Jasmine and Sierra aren’t pictured because they were done eating by the time I got to them. And Pumba, Joey and Sandy are in my daughter’s room and had been fed already.

From top left, clockwise: Rayne, Peaches and Murphy. Second photo Eliza Rose decided to join. This was shortly before I went to bed. I usually have a few more join once I’m in bed.
