Meet handsome Cooper! He’s a sweet and friendly 6-year-old male Sheepdoodle who gets along great with other dogs and loves kids. He hasn’t been around cats yet. Cooper is housebroken, crate trained, playful, and full of charm. He’s up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Join us at Tractor Supply in Galesburg, IL tomorrow (Saturday, May 30th) for Animal Days from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., where we’ll have some of our adoptable dogs with us! Come by to say hello and you might just meet your new best friend!

KITTENS, KITTENS, KITTENS!

We have so many adorable kittens looking for their forever homes. Some are still too young to leave and need to be spayed or neutered, but you can reserve one with an approved adoption application for when they’re ready. They’re all incredibly friendly and playful!

We also have plenty of wonderful cats over 7 months old who need loving homes—some have been here for 2 years! Come in to meet all of our cats and kittens and find your new best friend!

From now until the end of June, in celebration of National Adopt a Cat Month, we’re offering special discounted adoption fees: cats over 7 months are just $25, and kittens under 7 months are $40. This includes up-to-date vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, flea/tick treatment, and dewormer. You can fill out an adoption application at wiarrescue.com/adoption

PENDING ADOPTION

Meet little Rosie and Roxie, one-year-old female Shih Poo sisters who came to us as owner surrenders. They’re super friendly with everyone they meet and full of energy. They’re crate trained but still have the occasional accident in the house. They reportedly get along well with other dogs and cats. We’d love to see them adopted together since they’re siblings, but it’s not a must. Rosie is slightly bigger at 15.5 lbs, while Roxie is 11 lbs and has a darker coat. Both are up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. They’ve also been HW tested and treated for fleas and ticks. Meet Rocket, a sweet little 1½-year-old male Havanese weighing about 11 lbs. He’s a little shy and nervous in his new surroundings but loves attention and cuddles. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and is reportedly housetrained and crate trained. Rocket came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own. For his 10th birthday, Oliver Hennenfent chose to ask for donations to our rescue instead of receiving presents. He and his family arrived with lots of dog and cat food, tasty treats, cozy blankets, fun toys, and so much more. A big thank you to this remarkable young man for his kindness and generosity in thinking of us and the animals we care for.

Beautiful Indy is still looking for her forever home. Her adoption fee has been sponsored, so all she needs is an approved application. She came to the rescue when her owner had to move and couldn’t bring her along. This sweet 3-year-old Aussie/Komondor mix can be a bit protective of her food and toys around other dogs, so she’d do best as the only dog in the home. Weighing about 90 pounds, she loves playing with her toys and chasing balls. She’s up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.
