H.E.A.R.T. 9/11

H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 Respond immediately to natural and man-made disasters; Rebuild community centers in hard-hit areas to meet grassroots needs: Recover by rebuilding resiliency.

Eight letters, recognized the world over, have come to define the safety, security and spirit of New York City: FDNY and NYPD. These are the men and women we trust in times of triumph and tragedy; their silhouettes seared into our hearts and minds as they emerged from the shadows of 9/11, where we were brought to our knees, but came together at Ground Zero – First Responders and Building Trade Members alike -- to recover and rebuild. These are the expert volunteers of HEART 9/11.

We Will "Never Forget" May 30, 2002 - On May 30, 2002, the last steel column was removed from Ground Zero marking the end of recovery operations at the World Trade Center following the attacks on 9/11. Today, in a ceremony on the Memorial Glade at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum all 9/11 rescue, recovery, and relief workers, as well as those who are sick or have died from illnesses linked to exposure to hazards and toxins in the aftermath of 9/11 at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, or near Shanksville, PA will be remembered, and the spirit of survivors and members of the downtown community will be recognized. We will "Never Forget". #

Today, we honor our heroes who sacrificed their lives to defend our freedoms, as well as the Gold Star families who experience Memorial Day every day of the year. HEART 9/11 pays tribute to our friends from the Triple Deuce - the US Army 10th Mountain Division, 2-22 Infantry Battalion, at Fort Drum, NY, and to their fallen brothers and sisters.
