🎉 PACK 140 IS GOING 25 FOR 75! 🍿

This year is a big one for Cub Scout Pack 140 — we’re celebrating 75 YEARS of Scouting, adventure, service, friendship, and fun right here in Monett!

And we decided a milestone this big deserves a BIG popcorn goal.

Our challenge: $25,000 in popcorn sales for our 75th anniversary.

Family Friday!

Labor Day weekend is almost here — and sometimes the best adventures are the simple ones.

Take a walk together. Play a game in the backyard. Pack a picnic. Sit outside after dark. Or just slow things down for a while and enjoy being together.

Cub Scouting is filled with campouts, activities, awards and adventures, but at the heart of it all is something even more important:

Families making memories together.

As we begin Pack 140's 75th year, think about what you'd like your family to get out of Scouting this year. Maybe it's spending more time outdoors, making new friends, learning new skills, trying something completely new — or simply having more reasons to put everything else aside and do something together.

That's what the adventure is really about.

🇺🇸 However you're spending Labor Day weekend, we hope there's a little time in it for family, fun, and maybe an adventure or two.

Know a Kid Who's Ready for an Adventure?

For 75 years, kids in Monett have found adventure, friendship, new skills, and a place to belong with Cub Scout Pack 140.

Now we're looking for the next generation of Pack 140 Cubs!

Cub Scouting gives kids a chance to get outside, try things they've never done before, make new friends, help their community, build confidence — and have a whole lot of fun along the way.

And the best part?
Families get to be part of the adventure too.

Wonder Wednesday!

Pack 140, have you ever wondered how a little kernel of corn became such a big part of Scouting?

Popcorn season certainly helps fund our adventures, but there's something even more important happening behind those tables.

Every time one of our Cubs introduces themselves to someone new, answers a question, works alongside another Scout, or keeps going toward a goal, they're building confidence, teamwork, and determination — sometimes without even realizing it.

And when our community buys a bag of popcorn, they're not just buying a snack. They're helping Pack 140 create campouts, activities, awards, new experiences, and memories for our kids.

Now for today's riddle:

I start out small and hard,
heat makes me grow,
I make a loud POP,
and I've helped Scouts go on adventures for generations.

Did You Know Tuesday?

Did you know Pack 140 has been part of the Monett community for 75 years?

Think about that for a minute.

For three-quarters of a century, generations of Monett kids have put on a Cub Scout uniform, made new friends, tried things they'd never done before, learned to help others, and discovered what they could accomplish when they Did Their Best.

Some things have changed quite a bit since 1951. But what we're here to do hasn't.

We're still helping kids build confidence, learn by doing, serve their community, make memories, and grow into tomorrow's leaders.

And now, as we celebrate our 75th year, we're inviting a new generation of Monett families to become part of that story.

Maybe 75 years from now, someone will be looking back at the adventures we're having today.

Motivational Monday!

A new school year is underway, September is just around the corner, and another year of adventure has begun for Pack 140!

New years bring new opportunities — to learn something new, make a new friend, try something that seems a little difficult, help somebody who needs it, and maybe discover something you're really good at.

For 75 years, Pack 140 Cubs have started their adventures with one simple idea:

Do Your Best.

You don't have to be the fastest.
You don't have to know all the answers.
You don't have to get everything right the first time.

You just have to give it your best shot.

So whether it's in the classroom, at home, or on our next Pack 140 adventure — let's make this a year of trying new things, growing together, and making some great memories along the way.

Sunday Reverence

Yesterday was about popcorn, smiles, conversations, and our Pack coming together. Today is a good day to slow down and simply be thankful.

As Pack 140 begins another Scouting year — our 75th year in Monett — we're reminded just how many people make this adventure possible: families who give their time, leaders who step up, neighbors who support our kids, and a community that has welcomed Pack 140 for generations.

The Scout Law reminds us:

“A Scout is Reverent.”

Take a quiet moment today to appreciate the people around you, the opportunities we've been given, and the chance we have to make a positive difference in the lives of our kids.

Family Friday! 🍿

Tomorrow kicks off our first popcorn sale of the year, and that means Pack 140 is officially back in action!

Popcorn season is one of those times when our whole Pack comes together. Families lend a hand, kids build confidence, we meet people throughout our community, and together we help make another year of Pack 140 adventures possible.

Every sale helps support the things that make our Pack special — camping, activities, awards, events, and opportunities for our kids to get out there and experience something new.

And this year is a pretty special one.

For 75 years, Monett families have worked together to keep Pack 140 going strong. Now it's our turn to add another chapter. 💙💛
