Kelly’s Testimony: From Fear to Flourishing with “Getting Ahead” 🌟💪🙏
Meet Kelly, someone who ran a gym, conquered corporate America, and now leads a virtual fitness class from home. But In March 2025, she made one of the hardest decisions of her life: stepping away from her banking career due to overwhelming health issues, particularly fear and mental instability.
Over the next several months, Kelly drew closer to God, dedicating time to study His Word and discover what it truly means to live in love rather than in fear. Although that season was challenging, it ignited a journey of inner healing and transformation. During that time, God instilled in her the courage to step out in faith and revive a dream she once believed was lost forever—her ladies-only gym, “Strong Ladies R Us.”
However, faced with a dramatic drop in her family's income and the Christmas season fast approaching, Kelly found herself in a difficult position and needed to seek help, something that was far from easy. Yet, she took a leap of faith and reached out to her church family, Grace Family Church in Vinton, and the outcome was nothing short of amazing. God moved in incredible ways!
She was referred to the Agape Center for Christmas assistance, but what she didn’t know was that God was connecting her to something far greater—a crucial part of her healing journey, community, and unity.
Jump ahead to February 2026… During a routine appointment, Kelly spotted a sign for a class called “Getting Ahead.” Her initial reaction was, “That’s not for me.” She felt a wave of pride creeping in—reminding her she’s still human after all. Later that day, Kelly confided in her mentor about the challenges she was facing, the gym that was finally taking shape and her husband facing job loss at Yokohama due to the company shutting down. Her mentor listened and shared, “I don’t want to overstep, but I feel the Holy Spirit leading me to recommend you consider the ‘Getting Ahead’ class.”
She told her mentor she couldn’t meet with the facilitator that day because she was in a rush…But God surely has a sense of humor. The moment Kelly walked out of her mentor room, she ran into the class leader. They exchanged numbers. She had the interview. And everything—from the class days to the timing—lined up perfectly with her life.
But nothing prepared her for the personal growth she found when she joined the “Getting Ahead” class. The lessons went way beyond what she expected, opening her eyes to new perspectives and helping her see herself in a whole new light. What she learned was so profound and transformative that she knows she’ll continue to reflect on them for months—maybe even years—to come.
Now, Kelly approaches every day with more confidence. She’s learned how to love her family better and tackle challenges instead of avoiding them. Her journey taught her that she is loved, capable, and worthy. She’s proud of the progress she’s made and no longer allows her feelings to tell her who she is but walks boldly in her identity in Christ.
Her connection to the Agape Center turned out to be more than just timely help—it became a tremendous blessing to her and her family—the people, the prayers, the mentorship, the resources, and above all, the LOVE. God didn’t just provide for a season…He positioned her for healing, growth, and purpose. And she is forever grateful
