✈️ The LCAA was proud to host our first LIFT Camp of this school year this past Saturday! ✈️

Thankfully, the weather cleared up for us, and all 8 of our students were able to get in the aircraft and experience what aviation is all about! Not only did they get the chance to fly, but they also learned more about the many rewarding careers in aviation and explored different resources and pathways to help them take their first steps toward a future in the industry! 🧑‍✈️📚

A huge thank you to Charleston Southern Aeronautics and to all of the volunteers who make camps like this possible!

✈️ The Lowcountry Aerospace Academy was proud to partner with the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) ACE Academy to introduce 13 students to the exciting world of aviation! ✈️

Throughout the week, these students immersed themselves in aviation through hands-on experiences, including tours of Boeing, Trident Technical College's Aeronautical Training Center, and Joint Base Charleston. They wrapped up the week by taking to the skies during Saturday's LIFT Camp, where each student had the opportunity to take the controls of an aircraft and experience the thrill of flying firsthand!

✈️ Congratulations to all of the students who successfully completed the LCAA Private Pilot Ground School! ✈️

Over the last four weeks, our Private Pilot Ground School students dove into everything from airspace and weather to aerodynamics, navigation, and FAA regulations. They are now well prepared for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test and have taken an exciting first step toward future careers in aviation.

We wish each of them the very best as they take their knowledge exams, and we look forward to seeing them back in the cockpit soon!

None of this happens without our incredible volunteer instructors. A huge thank you to Michael, Doug, Lonnie, and everyone else who gave their mornings and expertise to make this program possible. Charleston's next generation of pilots is better because of you.

✈️ Looking to jump start your aviation journey this summer? Join the LCAA for our first ever 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 Private Pilot Ground School! 🎓

During this ground school, you will learn the fundamentals of aeronautical knowledge necessary to prepare you to pass your FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test (the first test required in getting your pilot's license) and succeed in your aviation journey!

✈️ The LCAA was proud to host another successful LIFT Camp for local students this past Saturday at Berkeley County Airport!✈️

We had over 16 students take to the skies with us, and for many of them, it was not only their first time in an airplane, but also their first time piloting one! 🙌

Through experiences like these—combined with the resources, mentorship, and advice shared during LIFT Camps—our students are preparing to take off into future careers in aviation. 🧑‍✈️📚

A huge thank you to Charleston Southern Aeronautics—especially CFIs Maddie and Karleigh—and to all of the volunteers who make camps like this possible!

A huge thank you to Trident Technical College and CHS International Air Traffic Control for hosting an incredible tour for our students this past Monday! 🛫

Students got an up-close look at exciting careers in aviation maintenance and air traffic control — and it wasn't just classroom learning! They got hands-on experience with:
✈️ 737 Flight Simulator
🔧 Engine Run-Up Stands
💨 Wind Tunnel
⚡ Electronics Lab

They also got an inside look at how CHS Air Traffic Control keeps aircraft safe and on time — insight that most people never get to hear straight from the controllers themselves!

The LCAA was proud to host another successful LIFT Camp on April 25th at Charleston Executive Airport! ✈️

We had 10 students take to the skies, and for nearly all of them, it was their very first time in an airplane—and they even got to fly it! Not only that, they had the opportunity to connect with aviation professionals and learn more about their next steps into aviation!

A huge thank you to CHS Flight School for providing aircraft and instructors, and to Trident Technical College’s Aeronautical Studies Department for showcasing opportunities in aviation maintenance. 🛠️
