THE BURN PERMIT SYSTEM WILL BE IS TURNED OFF FOR THE WEEKEND (7 - 8 MAR) DUE TO NWS WEATHER BRIEFING - HIGH WINDS, INCREASING TEMPS, AND LOWER RH.

There have already been multiple grass fires around the region. Please be safe out there!

There is an elevated grass fire risk as we continue to see unseasonably warm weather combined with 20-30% relative humidity and high winds. Please avoid causing a spark or any outdoor burning.

It seems fire season is here in earnest. Molt Volunteer Fire members responded to 5 incidents in the last week. Multiple lightning-strike fires in Molt were quickly brought under control thanks to quick response including putting our new water tender and DNRC Type 5 Engine into action.

Two Molt engines and 5 volunteers, along with multiple other agencies and state resources, provided mutual aid on the Moser Dome fire south of Laurel.

Temperatures are high and humidity is low, so please be careful with any activities that may start a fire.
