Who doesn’t love a sweet little cockatiel????

Popcorn is only 1 year old and already thinks whistling sweet nothings in your ear is a solid plan for securing permanent housing. Honestly? We respect the strategy.

This little female cockatiel is looking for someone who appreciates a personal serenade, snuggles, naps together and doesn’t mind being wooed by someone with a feather mohawk. No dating apps. No awkward small talk. Just Popcorn, shooting her shot. 🎶💛

🚨ATTENTION PLEASE!🚨

Rowen would like your attention. Your shoulder. And for you to remember that neither of those things makes you her manager.

This smart female Indian ringneck targets well and loves a shoulder ride. She wants to be included in whatever you’re doing, preferably as the main attraction, while keeping her options open. Togetherness is lovely. Independence is nonnegotiable.

Looking for a clever little sidekick with opinions and no interest in being micromanaged? Rowen is accepting applications.

We are located in Molino, Florida, near Pensacola. Adopters must live within about a four-hour drive. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Shout out to my husband, who has spent the last three days cutting, moving and cleaning up broken, downed and uprooted trees. He’s also checked on the neighbors, their dogs and their generator. We loaned a generator to a friend who needed one, too.

He’s tired. And there’s still so much left to do.

We have several more trees to cut down, cut up and haul to the freedom seed mound. That doesn’t even include the trees down in the back pastures.

My back is bad right now, so I can’t help with the physical work. If you know me, you know how much I hate that. I stay close while he’s cutting and moving the big logs, keeping watch in case something shifts or he gets hurt or trapped. It’s what I can do right now.

We’re still without power, but we have a generator and a window AC, and I’m thankful for both. So many people are dealing with far worse damage and need help.

But today, I want to give Al some credit. For the hard work. For checking on others while we have our own mess. For keeping going when he’s worn out.

Thankful for him. Thankful our damage wasn’t worse. And hoping he gets a chance to rest soon.

Well at least they know we exist now.

Still no power.

Some encouraging news for our sweet Piglet! đź’—

Her pathology results are back, and no cancer was identified in the mass that was tested! Instead, it was an inflammatory growth called a xanthoma, made up of fat, cholesterol, and inflammatory cells.

There was also a separate pocket of bacterial inflammation, which was completely removed during surgery. Another positive!

And her recovery? This girl is making me smile. She’s much more active, in good spirits, and I’ve even seen her scratching her own head with her affected leg. That’s something I’ve never seen her do before! Such a small thing, but seeing her use that leg like that means so much.

Some xanthoma tissue remains at the surgical site. The recommendation is to remove all of the affected tissue because it can continue causing inflammation or grow back. But Piglet’s remaining masses are large, so we’ll need to discuss the safest and best course of action with her vet.

We still have decisions ahead, but today we have encouraging answers and a girl who seems to be feeling better. Our goal remains keeping her comfortable and giving her the best quality of life possible.

Thank you for loving Piglet right alongside us, and for every donation, prayer, and kind message. Small bird. Big fan club. đź’—
