FRC Team 648 - QC Elite Flaming Squirrels

Had a great time at Rock River Robotics Offseason Event last weekend. We ranked 18 and were selected as the second robot by Alliance 2 Captain Gear It Forward Robotics: Oswego 2338 and FRC Team 4096, "Ctrl-Z" in the elimination matches. Although, we didn't make it to the end, we enjoyed competing alongside these amazing teams. Our intake broke part way through the competition so we shifted to become a defense bot. It was the first time on the field for most of the team but by the end of the day, they showed they could be adaptable, grew in their positions, knew when they had to queue, and came together as a team. Most importantly, they had fun and would do it again. The team stayed to tear down which went quick this year. Thank you to our Alliance 2 teams and R2OC hosting teams!!! Can't wait until next year!

In May, the team participated in the QCESC - Quad City Engineering and Science Council Cardboard Boat Regatta. It's a great way to end our season following robot competitions and lets the students be very creative. The students went all out with their Sponge Bob Bikini Bottom decor and brought home a trophy.

There is still time to make donations to Birdies for Charity before July 1. We will receive at least a 5% bonus, but could be more, for every $1 donated. Your support keeps our FRC team, 2 FLL teams, and our QC STEM Alliance center going. Every bit counts! Congratulations Coach Jason Ryan, winner of the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award at Central Illinois Regional!!!! This award is the highest honor a FIRST mentor can recieve.
