We're so grateful to the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation for their support following the December 2025 Atmospheric Flooding.

Thanks to their generosity, CCVOAD is better able to reach vulnerable community members, stabilize housing, and restore the essential resources people need to move forward.

One flood survivor offered "truly heartfelt thanks for the prompt aid and relief provided" β€” a reminder of why this work matters so much.

Thank you for believing in Clackamas County's recovery.

A huge thank you to KOIN 6 AM Extra with Emily Burris and Mia Villanueva for having our Executive Director, Barb Edwards, on this morning.

With wildfire season upon us and dry conditions across Oregon, Barb shared important tips on how homeowners can protect their property and families, and highlighted the critical work ORVOAD does to connect organizations statewide in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.

Our newsletter for May is here! partner meeting tomorrow and updates for upcoming events. and a very special thank you to two leaders who have shaped CCVOAD for the better. Teresa Robertson (Secretary) and Jamie Poole (Director) have completed their two terms with us and are stepping down from the board.

Through wildfires, floods, and the everyday work of building a stronger disaster preparedness and recovery network in Clackamas County, they showed up and with a clear-eyed focus on the people we serve.

This isn't goodbye. It's a deep thank-you for al you do for our community!

Building partnerships before the next disaster. 🀝

This week, CCVOAD Executive Director Pat Olsen presented to the Oregon City Safety Council β€” joining neighborhood associations and public service professionals for a great conversation about disaster preparedness and how the Safety Council and CCVOAD can partner together moving forward.

Clackamas County VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) is the connective tissue between nonprofits, faith-based groups, government agencies, and community partners. Across 38 partner organizations, we fill gaps and connect resources at every phase of a disaster β€” immediate response, intermediate recovery, and long-term rebuilding.

A recurring theme of the discussion? Mass care readiness. When hundreds of neighbors are suddenly displaced, the question isn't whether help will come β€” it's whether we'll be coordinated when it does. Preparation today is what makes an effective response possible tomorrow.

Huge thanks to the Oregon City Safety Council for the invitation, and to every neighborhood leader and first responder in the room. Building resilience is a team sport. Want to partner with us, or learn how to get your neighborhood ready? β†’ www.ccvoad.org

After a Level 3 evacuation order during the 2020 Unger Fire, a Mulino family isn't waiting for the next close call. They've spent months clearing land, removing debris, and hardening their home with fire-resistant materials β€” doing exactly what CCVOAD is urging all County residents to do this season. Thank you KGW-TV and Libby Dowsett for sharing this important information!

Forecasts point to an above-average wildfire year. Now is the time to act.
Three steps to start today:
🏠 Harden your home β€” ember-resistant vents, fire-resistant roofing, screen your decks
🌿 Create defensible space β€” clear 30 feet around structures, trim vegetation
πŸŽ’ Be 2 Weeks Ready β€” food, water, meds, documents, and a family communication plan
