Mokane Lions Club Mokane MO MEETTING HELD ON THE 2ND WENSDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 7PM AT THE LIONS HALL IN MOKANE, MO In charge of arrangements are H.F. Hafner, secretary-treasurer. Brown, J.J.

The Mokane Fair got it charter in 1950, when the first fair was held on the main street of Mokane, Missouri. The then newspaper the Fulton Daily Sun-Gazette, stated the three day event attracted some of the largest crowds ever seen in the South Callaway river community. The Second Fair was held over the Labor Day weekend of 1951, with
Baseball.....Dancing.....Barbecue.....Old Fashioned Fiddling

Contest and many other attractions. The entire program was held on Main Street, except for a baseball
game.Highlights of the program Sunday afternoon, was the Old Fiddlers Contest, a
barbershop quartet singing by the members of the local SPEBSQ-SA chapter. Rides and concessions, barbecues and dancing nightly rounded out the program. Buechner, president of the Lions Club at that time and C.W. Others assisting are Russell Laube, Richard Hodges, L.C. Boone, Robert Williamson, Jack Jones, J.C. Powell, C.B. Elley, Paul Mealy, J.F. Uhlig, John Ulig, John V. Taylor, J.W. Montgomery, Ralph Montgomery, Guy Bezler and
Christy Krebs.
