On May 8, Mojave Elks Lodge #2059 had the absolute privilege of celebrating some truly outstanding young people from our community during our Youth Appreciation Dinner.

One of the greatest joys of being part of the Elks is recognizing the leadership, service, character, talent, and promise of the next generation—and this event was a beautiful reminder that our future is bright.

While not all of our honorees were able to attend in person, we absolutely want to acknowledge and celebrate each of them for their accomplishments and positive contributions to our community.

We were honored to recognize young people representing community service, scouting, athletics, scholarship achievement, and the Mojave Queens program.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 Youth Appreciation Honorees!

🚨 HELP NEEDED – LODGE KITCHEN PROJECT 🚨

Calling all able-bodied members and friends! We need your help on Tuesday, May 19th at 4:30 PM to remove the old stove from the Lodge kitchen and get the new one moved into place.

This is a critical project because until the new stove is installed, we are unable to prepare or serve meals at the Lodge, which means upcoming meals between now and then will need to be canceled.

If you can lend a hand—even for a short time—it would make a huge difference. The more help we have, the faster and safer we can get this done and get our kitchen back up and running.

Please let Becky know ASAP at (661) 874-8991 if you’re available to help.

This is one of those “many hands make light work” moments, and we’d be so grateful for the support. 💜🦌

We wanted to give our Veterans and Active Duty in the Mojave and surrounding communities a heads up on a special day planned in your honor 🇺🇸

On Monday, May 25, 2026, we will be gathering at 11 AM at East Kern Cemetery for a Memorial Day Ceremony to remember and honor those who have served and sacrificed. Following the ceremony, lunch will be served at Mojave Elks Lodge #2059.

Veterans and Active Duty will be our guests—lunch is on us. It’s a small way to say thank you for your service and commitment.

We know there are several activities and events happening at the lodge leading up to Memorial Day, and we’ll be sharing more about those soon—but we didn’t want this important day to sneak up without making sure our Veterans had it on their calendars.

We hope you’ll join us for a meaningful morning of remembrance, connection, and community.

Rigs, Smiles, and Community Spirit in Mojave

Today, Mojave was full of motion, laughter, and purpose as Rigs 4 Kidz rolled into town—and what unfolded was more than an event. It was a reminder of what happens when a community leans in together.

From towering rigs and flashing lights to hard hats, hands-on displays, and wide-eyed kids, the energy was contagious. Children explored, climbed, asked questions, and imagined themselves in the driver’s seat, while families and neighbors gathered simply to enjoy being together. Every corner of the event told the same story: this didn’t happen by accident.

The Mojave Elks Lodge and the Mojave Chamber were on hand throughout the day, joined by first responders, public works teams, service organizations, local businesses, volunteers, and countless behind-the-scenes helpers. Each person played a part—setting up tents, bringing equipment, welcoming families, offering refreshments, guiding kids safely through activities, and creating moments that will be remembered long after the rigs have rolled out.

While Rigs 4 Kidz is clearly a community effort, special recognition goes to Travis Behrens, whose fingerprints are unmistakably on this event. In Mojave, if something meaningful is happening, chances are Travis is involved—and today was no exception. His leadership, along with the willingness of so many others to say “yes,” turned an idea into a day filled with connection and joy.

Most importantly, this event reflected something deeper than trucks and displays. It reflected pride in Mojave, care for our kids, and a shared belief that showing up matters. Many hands made this day possible, and many hearts were touched in the process.

More information, acknowledgments, and highlights will be shared soon. For now, these moments captured today say it best: Mojave came together—and that’s something worth celebrating.

Calling all members 📣

Starting Wednesday, February 4 at 6:00 PM, we need you at the Lodge for important meetings that looks both to this weekend and to our future year of leadership.

First, we’ll be bringing together everyone who is helping with Rigs 4 Kids, happening this Saturday. Final coordination, last details, and making sure every role is covered will help ensure this event is the success our community and kids deserve 🚜👧🧒.

Just as important, our regular lodge meeting beginning at 7 PM includes the nominations of officers for the 2026–2027 Fiscal Year.

As a reminder:
• Nominations are held at the first meeting
• Elections are held at the second meeting, if there is more than one nominee

This is how we honor the process, strengthen our Lodge, and ensure strong leadership moving forward. Whether you’re actively involved, considering stepping up, or simply want to stay informed, your presence matters.

Please make every effort to attend. This is one of those nights where showing up truly counts.
