The Friends of Jawbone (FOJ) is a non-profit, public benefit corporation dedicated to the promotion of outdoor recreation in the Jawbone Canyon area. Formed in 1998, Friends of Jawbone supports and develops projects to improve, protect, and maintain existing trails and to promote understanding, education, and cooperation among all users of public lands. The Friends of Jawbone organization consists

of off-highway users and their local, state and federal agency representatives. We work together to ensure cntinued availability of multiple use recreational opportunities in Jawbone Canyon and surrounding areas. Friends of Jawbone also provides support for the day-to-day operations of the Jawbone Station and Visitor Center. FOJ coordinates its volunteer activities at the station and makes every effort to ensure trained personnel continue to be available in the station to assist visitors to the area when necessary. When you support the Friends of Jawbone, you are supporting a coalition of users, groups, and public agencies that really works for you!

Attention Target Shooters:

The Bureau of Land Management is pleased to announce publication of a web page and map displaying BLM EXPLORE Act-compliant target shooting ranges. This includes BLM-managed ranges, BLM-leased ranges, and ranges on former public lands where ownership has been transferred to partners for the purpose of developing a public shooting range.
This initiative fulfills BLM’s obligation under the EXPLORE Act to identify and display districts with qualifying ranges, those without, and areas where additional ranges are needed.

BLM offers a number of target shooting ranges for public use on BLM-managed lands.

2,200 MILES GONE — AND WE’RE NOT STAYING SILENT

A federal court ruling has just erased access to 2,200 miles of designated OHV routes in the West Mojave (WEMO) - routes that generations of responsible recreationists have used, maintained, and protected. This isn’t just disappointing - it’s deeply frustrating, unjust, and a direct hit to our community, our access, and the rural economies that depend on it.
SEMA and ORBA, along with a powerful coalition of national and state OHV organizations has issued a unified statement in response. SEMA along with a powerful coalition of national and state OHV organizations has issued a unified statement
in response. We strongly disagree with the narrative used to justify these closures and remain committed to ensuring that future decisions reflect sound science, balanced management, and the true value of responsible recreation. At the same
time, we recognize the reality: this ruling is legally binding - for now.
