12 this year. What about your angel?

12 this year.
What about your angel?

Birthdays can carry a thousand emotions when your baby should be here. đź’ś
Another year older… while quietly wondering how old your little one would be turning too. 🎂🦋
There is no “right” way to feel. You can smile, cry, celebrate, break down, or simply get through the day. Your baby is still loved. Your baby is still remembered. And you are never alone in missing them.

August 22nd is Rainbow Baby Day ❤️

How did you come up with your rainbow baby's name?

If you don't yet have a rainbow, where are you in your journey?

One year ago today, Leave The Light On Counseling LLC opened its doors, and what a blessing this journey has been.

My heart is full of gratitude for God's faithfulness and for the incredible support of my family, friends, clients, and community. Thank you for believing in this vision and allowing me to walk alongside so many on their healing journeys.

"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10

Thank You, Lord, for leading every step. Here's to another year of hope, healing, and always leaving the light on. 💛✨

(This picture is one I took. It was the last vacation we were able to take with my dad. That was almost 2 years ago. After we returned from that vacation, 27 days he was gone. **Where was God in this you may ask? I will tell you: I wasn’t going to go on that vacation because I felt I “needed” to work. I am so thankful my clients were understanding-not only about the vacation but in less than 30 days after returning from the vacation, losing my dad. I share this because my business logo is one my dad drew. He was going to enter it for Berks Blues Fest but missed the deadline. He was going to submit it the next year. So in honor of him, I chose the classic street light. As for the name “Leave The Light On” - John 8:12: "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life").

Did you know that July is Bereaved Parents Month?

This month is to raise awareness about the grief we go through after losing a child and the unique and lifelong impact it has on us.

As many of you know, losing a child affects us for the rest of our lives. There is no moving on from it.

Did you know about this awareness month?

And to think…

The first face you saw when you opened your eyes was the face of Jesus.

You never knew pain.

You never knew fear.

You never knew hunger, loneliness, heartbreak, or loss.

You never experienced a cold hospital room or a difficult goodbye.

Instead, you were wrapped in perfect love from the very beginning.

While my arms remained empty, yours were filled by the One who created you.

And even though I wish every day that I could have held you here, there is comfort in knowing you have never spent a single moment alone.

You were loved on earth long before I met you.

And you have been loved in Heaven ever since.

Until the day I see you again, that thought will always bring me peace.

💔🕊️ Oh, how I just wanted to bring you home. 🕊️💔

I didn't spend months dreaming of a goodbye.

I dreamed of bringing you home.

I imagined buckling you into your car seat for the very first time. I imagined introducing you to your family, watching you sleep peacefully, and filling our home with all the love I had been saving just for you.

Instead, I left the hospital carrying a memory box instead of my baby.

No parent prepares for that kind of heartbreak.

The nursery may be quiet. The tiny clothes may remain unworn. But the love I have for you continues to grow with every passing day.

People may think time heals all wounds, but some losses become a part of who we are. We learn to carry them, but we never stop missing the ones we love.

✨ The hardest part wasn't saying hello. It was leaving without you.

"I wasn't asking for forever. I was only asking to bring my baby home." đź’”

Maybe the waiting season isn’t empty after all.

Maybe while we’re down here longing for our babies,
they’re being held by the people we miss most.

Maybe they’re hearing stories from grandparents we’d give anything to hug again.
Maybe they’re being loved on by the family members who left this earth too soon.

And maybe that’s why some days, despite all the heartbreak,
there’s still this strange sense of peace deep in my soul.

Because maybe Heaven is introducing them to the people we can’t wait to see again too.

Maybe they aren’t alone while we wait for them.

Maybe they’re surrounded by love until the day they finally make it into our arms.
