A Prayer Request for Boanerges
I wanted to share a small story and invite you to pray with us.
There is an elderly gentleman in Nicaragua named Boanerges. He’s in his late 80s, disabled, and has no children. Most of his family has already passed away, and for a long time he lived almost completely alone — physically weak, spiritually isolated, and without anyone to help him with even the basic things.
A local pastor we partner with met him while visiting families in need. When he learned about Boanerges’ situation, he reached out to us. Through the small ministry work we have been doing in Nicaragua, we were able to hire an in-home aide to care for him daily — helping him bathe, eat, move around, and simply not be alone. The pastor has also been visiting him regularly, praying with him, sharing the Word, and bringing groceries when he can.
It’s a small story in the grand scheme of things, but for Boanerges, it’s everything. He now has people checking on him, caring for him, and reminding him he is not forgotten by God.
If you think of him, please pray for strength, comfort, and peace for Boanerges — and for wisdom for us and the pastor as we continue walking with him.
