The iRise Up Project

The iRise Up Project We are a non-profit organization trying to change the world by changing the statistics of bullying today. First off, thanks for checking out our page!

For showing an interest and hopefully accepting the challenge to rise up and make a difference! Let's get down to business though, my name is Tanya Thalen, 19 years old, and founder of The iRise Up Project. I have experienced first hand what bullying can do to a person and after experiencing it myself, I've made a decision to do anything within my power to make sure that I can prevent that feeling

for at least one other kid out there, if not more. Statistics state that at least 1 in 7 kids is either the bully or the bullied and our goal with The iRise Up Project is change that. Our goal is show world that we can put aside our differences and rise up together, as one. This is not something that we hope people get super pumped about right after hearing about us, but something that we want people to accept and live out. We call ouselves, The iRise Up Project because as others projects, this project is on going too. We challenge everyone who reads about us to accept a challenge that consists of standing up for those who are bullied to make a difference in this world.

Days ago we were reminded on how fast life can be taken away with the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. With funerals being held today and more to come in the near future it is our responsibilty as a nation to come together and show our respect, support, and love for all those hurting after such a tragic event. Prayers, thoughts, and hearts go out to the many people hurting from those here at The iRise Up Project. 12.14.12

Hey everyone! It's been a while since there's been any update, but we are still in the beginning stages of this. Designing merchandise, trying to get that chance to speak at a school, and just doing more research has taken lots of time!
