This is a great comparison of the things BCBAs learn vs. the things SLPs learn and shows why despite ABA's claims, BCBA's are practicing out of their scope, and are thoroughly unqualified to work on issues related to communication, feeding, etc.
THERAPY, ADVOCACY, EDUCATION: In case anyone is confused about which professionals are the experts in COMMUNICATION, FEEDING and AAC - Speech-Language Pathologists are uniquely trained and educated in Communication Disorders, Swallowing and Feeding Disorders and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). BCBAs have no training or education in any of these areas in their BCBA degree plans. And, SLPs can provide effective and life changing therapy in all of these areas without the use of ABA.
Did you know that Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is just one type of therapy methodology and that it is NOT the "gold standard," as the ABA Machine tries to claim?
