World Relief Modesto Resettlement agency for refugees in Stanislaus County. World Relief Modesto is a non-profit refugee resettlement organization.

We partner with churches, individuals, and the community to help refugees transition to their new life in the U.S. We resettle refugees from the Middle East and Asia. What we do:

* Greet them at the airport
* Furnish their apartments
* Provide cultural and community orientation
* Help them learn English through ESL classes
* Assist with job training and placement
* Connect them to vital social services

Our organization supports refugees during their initial months of transition in the United States. We rely on partnerships with hundreds of volunteers, local churches, and community organizations to help refugees achieve self-sufficiency and confidence. We seek to empower our partners to welcome the stranger and meet both spiritual and physical needs by inviting refugees into their lives and communities.

Join us Sunday evening for a special gala celebrating the voices and stories of refugee and immigrant students in our community. Through powerful photography and personal written narratives, these students will share pieces of their journeys after participating in a storytelling workshop led by Canadian photographer Gilad Cohen.
Hosted by Youth With A Mission Modesto, this evening is an opportunity to listen, learn, and celebrate the resilience, courage, and hope that make our community stronger. We would be honored to have you join us.

Here in Modesto, we know many refugee, immigrant, and Muslim families are feeling fearful and unsettled. To our neighbors and community members, we want you to know you are valued, welcomed, and not alone.

World Relief Modesto stands in solidarity with our San Diego colleagues, the Islamic Center, Imam Taha, and the broader Muslim community during this painful time. We condemn this act of violence and remain committed to compassion, dignity, peace, and belonging for all.

We are praying for San Diego, for healing, and for every individual and family impacted.

We often pass by people every day without knowing who they are or the stories behind the accents we hear.
If you’ve ever been curious about why families have come to seek safety in the Central Valley, this is an opportunity to hear directly from our newest neighbors.

Join us this Saturday at CrossPoint – Park Place, 1317 12th Street immediately following the Love Modesto rally. Message us if you have any questions.

Swipe through to hear directly from pastors and church leaders as they call us to respond with compassion, courage and conviction.

There’s a lot of conversation about revival right now.

But as Daniel Yang, our Senior Director of Global Mission and Church Movements, reminds us — real revival isn’t measured by crowds or cultural momentum.

It’s revealed in how we care for the vulnerable.

As you read, consider:
Where is God inviting you to move closer, not away?

We believe that once a refugee clears our nation’s most stringent security checks, they should be able to build a life without the constant shadow of fear.

But right now, that promise is under fire.

Despite recent court orders to halt the detention of our neighbors in MN, the push to re-interrogate over 200,000 lawfully present refugees continues.

This International Women’s Day, we’re honoring women like Assoumpta in Rwanda and Sandrine in Burundi — women who turned small starts into steady gains.

Through World Relief’s partnership with The Starbucks Foundation, Assoumpta grew start‑up capital into a business that now turns over nearly 2× her initial investment each cycle, while Sandrine put sustainable practices to work and more than tripled her harvests. The result: children in school, food on the table, and plans back on the horizon.
