John has been part of the UCP family for an incredible 28 years! 💙 When he’s not lighting up the room with his great smile, you can find him enjoying his favorite pastime — watching wrestling! 💪🎬 His favorite movie is The Karate Kid, and what John loves most about himself is how much he cares for his mom and family. 💖

Thank you to all who came out and joined Aktion Club of Stanislaus County for the annual Halloween Party. It was a great success and we all had a SPOOKY time! Costumes were of the hook again this year, can't wait to see what next year holds!

🎃 Fun Fall Day at Ram Farms! 🍂

Our UCP members had an amazing day at Ram Farms — exploring all the different kinds of pumpkins, getting lost (and found!) in the corn maze, and braving the haunted shed! 👻

A huge thank you to R.A.M. Farms for hosting us again this year and providing everyone with such a wonderful fall experience. We’re already looking forward to next time! 🧡

Sign Up for the October Future Planning Class for Caregivers!

The Future is Now is a FREE six-week online course (live) that provides options to support future planning for your adult family member with developmental disabilities through supported decision making. It empowers you to work with your family member to plan for the future they want – and that you want for them.

The class includes:
• Comprehensive Future Planning Guide to design a support plan for you and your family member with disabilities;
• Workbooks for parent/caregiver and family member;
• Certificate of Completion;
• Small and interactive class size so you can ask questions, and work with other parents and caregivers on developing a future plan step-by-step.

CLASS INFO:
• Class series starts Tuesday, October 28 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. (PST). Last class is Tuesday, December 9th.

Meet Chris Martin, our incredible Executive Director at UCP of Stanislaus County! Since 2012, Chris has poured her heart into supporting individuals with disabilities in the Central Valley—stepping into many roles along the way before taking on the big one: leading our team. 💙
💡 Passion for Advocacy
Chris doesn’t just lead—she advocates. From her work with the CHOICES Institute to other community organizations, she’s always finding ways to amplify voices and create more inclusive opportunities.
🏡 Rooted in Community
Proudly calling Turlock home, Chris is all about giving back. Whether through community service or volunteering, she knows that strong local support is key to independence and opportunity.
👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family First
When she’s not busy leading UCP, Chris loves traveling and spending time with her husband, two kids, and their Yorkie, Bella. (Yes, Bella is the boss at home 🐾).
