๐Ÿ’™ Member Spotlight: Christie ๐Ÿ’™

Meet Christie! She has been part of UCP since 2009 and brings plenty of personality to the program. When it comes to the perfect cozy day, Christie has it figured out she enjoys a good Christmas movie, a warm cup of coffee or hot cocoa, and time to sit back and relax! โ˜•๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽฌ

What Christie enjoys most about UCP is spending time with her friends and staff. Whether sheโ€™s catching up, sharing a laugh, or going to the mall (her favorite place) every day is a good one. We love having Christie as part of our UCP community! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’™ **Introducing UCPโ€™s Newly Elected Self-Advocacy Council Leaders!** ๐Ÿ’™

We are excited to introduce the newly elected Self-Advocacy Council leaders representing our Modesto and Turlock programs!

UCPโ€™s Self-Advocacy Councils provide a space for individuals to come together, share their ideas, speak up about what matters to them, and have a voice in their programs and communities.

Through the councils, self-advocates have opportunities to strengthen their leadership and communication skills, learn more about their rights, make informed choices, and help shape activities and decisions that are important to them.

At UCP, we believe every voice matters. We are proud to support our self-advocates as they step into leadership roles, represent their peers, and help make a difference. We canโ€™t wait to see what they accomplish! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ’ผ **Creating Opportunities Through Employment Services!** ๐Ÿ’™

At UCP, we believe meaningful employment is an important part of independence, inclusion, and being an active member of the community.

Our **Employment Services Program** uses a person-centered approach to help individuals identify their strengths, develop workplace skills, explore career interests, and work toward their individual employment goals.

In partnership with the **Department of Rehabilitation** and **Valley Mountain Regional Center**, UCP offers a variety of employment supports, including:

๐Ÿ”น External Situational Assessments
๐Ÿ”น Job Development
๐Ÿ”น Job Placement
๐Ÿ”น Job Coaching
๐Ÿ”น Internship Programs

Whether someone is exploring employment for the first time, gaining hands-on work experience, or building the skills needed to succeed on the job, our team provides individualized support every step of the way.

Our goal is simple: **help people find opportunities where their abilities are valued and they can succeed.** ๐Ÿ’™

If you or someone you know is in need of Employment Services, contact UCP today.

๐ŸŒŸ Staff Spotlight ๐ŸŒŸ

Janice Bradshaw

After retiring from a career in government, Janice wanted to continue making a difference. Inspired by years of supporting individuals with special needs and volunteering with Special Olympics, she joined UCP as a Job Coach in October 2025. She lovingly calls this her โ€œlove job!โ€ and enjoys helping interns grow, build confidence, and succeed.

Outside of UCP, Janice enjoys camping, thrift shopping, exploring new places, and spending time with her family. She is especially grateful for her husband, Rod, of 30+ years, who supports her in all of her adventures! ๐Ÿ’™
