“Service Above Self”

It was our honor to have Austin Gontarski of the Developing Future’s Foundation come lead us in a service project. At a young age Austin began collecting food for those in need that led to the development of his foundation when we was only in the 8th grade.

We collaborated with Austin to figure out what items were needed. RYLA then purchased the items for the service project and then we had our RYLAtarians set up, organize, execute, and cleanup, the service project where we packaged weekend meals for the backpack program at Catholic social services in Robertsdale, Alabama.

Austin also joined us as a Hype Squad Leader and made a lasting impact on many of our young attendees! Thank you so much for being a part of RYLA!

Congratulations to Our 2026 RYLA Participants! 🎉

The Evergreen Rotary Club is proud to recognize our two outstanding students who are representing our community at the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) this week at the University of South Alabama.

🌟 James Edwards, Rising Senior, Hillcrest High School
🌟 Talbot Brock, Rising Junior, Sparta Academy

RYLA is a leadership development program sponsored by Rotary that brings together exceptional high school students from across the region. Throughout the program, participants strengthen their leadership skills, build confidence, develop teamwork and communication abilities, and form lasting friendships with other young leaders. Through hands-on activities, team challenges, and inspiring speakers, students are encouraged to discover their potential and learn how they can make a positive impact in their schools and communities.

The Evergreen Rotary Club is honored to invest in the next generation of leaders, and we know James and Talbot will represent our community with excellence. We look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future!

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding young men! 👏💙💛
