Opening for Conductor of The Mobile Symphonic Pops Band.
The Mobile Symphonic Pops Band is accepting applications for the position of Conductor.
Interested individuals should apply by January 31, 2027.
The Mobile Pops is a non-profit adult community band consisting of volunteer musicians. Their purpose is to provide entertainment to the greater Mobile metropolitan area.
The conductor will serve as an independent contractor, appointed annually, by the board of directors. The conductor is a paid position with the pay being set by the board.
The preferred qualifications are:
Masters degree, or higher, in music or conducting or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years conducting experience.
Ability to adequately prepare for rehearsals.
Present a professional image for the band.

Applicants will be asked to demonstrate proficiency by conducting the band through a concert series of selected pieces including all rehearsals and concerts.
