🎺 The Excelsior Band is taking the stage in Birmingham!

Join us on Sunday, June 28 at 5:00 PM for a special performance during Jazz on 4th at the historic Carver Theatre. Experience one of the nation's oldest continuously performing African American bands as we continue the tradition of preserving and celebrating New Orleans-style jazz.

Whether you're a lifelong jazz fan or discovering the Excelsior Band for the first time, this is an evening you won't want to miss.

Mardi Gras 2026 — A Season to Remember 🎺

As the final parades roll to a close, we are reflecting with deep gratitude.

For more than 140 years, the Excelsior Brass Band has been part of the sound, spirit, and cultural heartbeat of Mobile. This Mardi Gras season was a powerful reminder that tradition is not just something we remember — it’s something we live.

To our dedicated musicians, loyal supporters, generous sponsors, and every person who paused along the parade route to listen — thank you. Your encouragement and belief in this mission allow us to preserve this historic band and invest in the next generation through The Jazz Studio.

Mardi Gras may be over, but our work continues.
