Prayers for the family of Mr. Tom Withers, the longest living member of the Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from him about MAMGA’s history and have a glimpse into his love of Mardi Gras as well as his optimism for Mobile. May he Rest In Peace.

2026 MAMGA ROYALTY 👑

As Grand Marshal for the 88th year of the Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association, I stepped into this season with honor… and today, on Fat Tuesday, we bring this royal chapter to a close.

What a reign it has been.

To serve alongside Her Royal and Most Gracious Majesty, Queen Dr. Kena Lane , His Royal Highness King Elexis I, King Bernard Jenkins , our Junior Monarch Queen Kymiah Dias Windham .kymiahh , and Junior Monarch King Albert Eugene Franklin IV — has been nothing short of historic.

We didn’t just celebrate Mardi Gras…
We honored legacy.
We elevated culture.
We walked in excellence.

Now as the beads settle and the parades conclude, I reflect with gratitude. This crown was never just a title — it was responsibility, representation, and royalty rooted in community.

The reign may conclude tonight…
But the legacy continues.
