Today marks the 80th anniversary of the registration of local 505's apprenticeship program. For 8 decades now, IBEW local 505 in partnership with the Gulf Coast chapter of NECA have been training electricians and producing Journeyman Inside Wireman that have gone on and helped build this great country.

Those Journeymen, their apprentices, and our local signatory contractors have had at least some hand in building nearly every building and landmark in the city of mobile and beyond. The mills and plants, the bridges and tunnels, the battleship, the buildings that make up the skyline itself, have all had the skills of our trained electricians on them.

We are proud of who we are and what we do. Our training program currently has the highest active enrollment in our history. We have nearly 200 applicants right now waiting to hopefully make the cut. This country will need hundreds of thousands of new electricians over the next decade to keep up with demand and we are here for it.

We build Alabama, We build America, We build the future. Come and build it with us.

80 years in the books, here's to many more!
