🚨 Due to a number of downed trees and power lines, the City of Mobile is advising residents to avoid driving on local roadways until Hurricane Isaias completely passes through the area.
Downed power lines will not be picked up tonight so drivers need to avoid traveling on city streets, especially as it gets darker. There are also reports of downed trees over roadways throughout the city that can create hazards for drivers.
⏰ Curfew
The City of Mobile will institute a general curfew beginning at 7 p.m. this evening, Oct. 9 through 6 a.m. Oct. 10 as Hurricane Isaias approaches the area.
The city is asking residents to stay in their homes during this time to allow first responders and other city staff to safely access the area and survey any damage the storm may cause. The biggest impacts from the significant weather event are expected to be storm surge, flash flooding, rain and wind damage.

- FRIDAY GARBAGE: Garbage will run normal routes on Friday. If your garbage pickup is on Friday (DIP, McVay, Heron Lakes, Morningside, and Skyland Park areas), please bring your garbage cans in from the street as soon as they’re emptied, if possible. We would like to avoid garbage cans floating/blowing down the streets.
