Together, their projects have avoided 342,000 metric tons of carbon emissions, kept more than 3,300 tons of recyclable materials out of landfills, put more than 1 million cubic yards of dredged material to beneficial use, and restored or protected more than 4.5 miles of shoreline.

Here on the Gulf Coast, the Mobile Bay estuary is an important part of the environmental, economic, and cultural health of our region, and the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program (MBNEP) works year-round to help protect it.

MBNEP brings together communities, businesses, government agencies, scientists, conservation organizations, and other partners to support the wise stewardship of Mobile Bay and the Tensaw Delta. Through watershed management, water-quality efforts, education, research, restoration, and hands-on community involvement, their work helps build long-term solutions for the health of our coastal resources.

During National Estuaries Week, September 19–26, PEP is proud to recognize the work of MBNEP and the many partners helping protect the waters and resources that make coastal Alabama such a special place to live and work.

Congratulations to Thompson Holdings on the addition of Todd M. Musterait, P.E., to its Board of Directors!

Musterait brings more than 30 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, with a background spanning civil and environmental engineering, strategic growth, acquisitions, and organizational transformation. Throughout his career, he has held executive leadership roles with several leading engineering and environmental organizations.
