In additon to several other projects, our very first effort, the HAT Project, ended 2022 strong, giving away three modified toy cars. The goal for each of our recipients vary, but there is always a common theme....independence.

Take in these words from the Mom and sister of our final 2022 recipient Oliver:

"We revealed the cars to the kids yesterday (Christmas Day). I explained to my daughter how y'all adapted Oliver's so he could ride one too. She said" I'm so glad God made such nice people momma, I've been praying for Oliver to be able to play with us too" "

There are many amazing and worthy charities you can choose to support this Giving Tuesday. Supporting harGIVES means you help make things possible for those who once faced the impossible. What do we do exactly? Here are just a few things harGIVES has accomplished...
1. HAT Project recipients qualify for electric wheelchairs because they were given a custom tool to develop thier skills.
2. Conquer Project members scale mountains and help local mobility limited children earn a merit badge that was previously beyond thier reach.
3. Totes of Hope - partnering with the Red Cross to fill 500 Totes bringing hope to at risk veterans and thier families.

Happy Veteran’s Day! With greatest respect for those who have and/or continue to serve our Great Nation in the Armed Forces; harGIVES is excited to announce that we are partnering with the Red Cross this year to support Totes for Hope!

The Totes for Hope drive provides aid to service members, military families, and veterans. More specifically this a personal care kit drive, meaning items for veterans are collected, assembled in a backpack or tote bag, and distributed through Veteran’s hospitals or outreach programs.

Attached is a flyer listing the requested care kit items. Donation boxes have been placed at the main entrance of the following Mobile office locations: Royal, Conti, St. Emanuel, Dauphin, and C+A buildings. We will be collecting items and monetary donations through November 19th.

We need your help! The HAT Project is ready to roll again but we need more pediatric wheel chair seats, arm and head rests. Do you know of any child who has outgrown thier old wheel chair seating system? Maybe a physical therapist who keeps old seats for spare parts? The pictures below indicate the specific type of seating systems that we need. Please spread the word by sharing this post. Thank you!
