This Labor Day weekend, we’re shining the spotlight on Sherlock — and honestly, we’re not sure how this girl is still waiting for her forever family!

Sherlock is the sweetest, happy-go-lucky little kitty with an easygoing personality, a sleek black coat, and the most beautiful eyes. 😻 She’s playful, affectionate, and just an all-around wonderful girl!

We’re really hoping Sherlock finds the perfect forever home she deserves. Because honestly… every home needs a little black beauty! 🖤✨

🚨 HELP US FIND OUT WHO DUMPED THESE TWO KITTENS! 🚨

We received a call from a Park Ranger about these two precious kittens who were dumped at a state park campground. 💔

They are tame, friendly, and clearly accustomed to people—which tells us they once had a home. Someone simply decided to throw them away as if they were garbage.

But they are NOT garbage. They have beating hearts, tender souls, and deserve so much better. ❤️🐾

The Park Ranger will be reviewing the campground cameras. If we can identify the person responsible, we will be seeking charges. Abandoning helpless animals is a criminal offense, especially on state property.

These babies were left in an incredibly dangerous environment where they could have been hit by a vehicle, attacked by wildlife, starved, or simply disappeared.

How can anyone do this?
We have GOT to do better as a human race.

If you recognize these kittens or have any information about where they came from, please reach out to us. And please—never dump an animal. If you can’t keep them,wait for help. There are always better options than abandonment.

🐾 They deserved better. And we’re going to make sure they get it. ❤️

🌞 THE NEWS WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR! 🌞

We couldn’t understand why Sunshine hadn’t found her home after all these months. But LOOK AT HER NOW! 🥹❤️

She’s going to be loved, cared for, and about to be spoiled rotten by someone just as special as she is. We know these two are going to be a perfect match! 🥰

Sunshine raised two kittens and even took in a stray neonatal baby and raised it as her own. She gave so much—and now it’s finally her turn to be loved. ❤️

Have the happiest life, Sunshine! ☀️🐾

😭 Today was a heartbreaking reminder of why early spay and neuter matters.

We were on-site today trapping adults and bringing kittens in from the dangers of living outdoors. We were told there were 5 kittens.

When we arrived, we learned that one had been run over by a car. 💔 Another had simply “disappeared.”

The kittens marked with a ❌ are no longer with us.

Sadly, this is a common—and devastating—reality for kittens left outside. They face cars, predators, disease, weather, starvation, and countless other dangers. It is heartbreaking and completely preventable.

This is why early spay and neuter MUST be a priority. 🐾

It takes one trip to the veterinarian to prevent an entire litter from being born into an uncertain future.

If you can’t afford to spay or neuter:
➡️ Contact a rescue or low-cost spay/neuter program.
➡️ Be prepared to transport the cat to the appointment.
➡️ Get a hard-sided carrier and put a towel on the bottom.
➡️ Ask for help BEFORE the kittens are born—not after.

Please understand: there are no magical facilities with unlimited space waiting for unwanted kittens. Rescues are overwhelmed, fosters are limited, and kitten season can be devastating.

And while giving kittens away for “free” on Facebook may seem like a solution, it can put vulnerable kittens at risk. Not everyone who responds has good intentions, and a free kitten can quickly become a disposable kitten.

💔 Let’s stop the cycle of overbreeding.

Spay. Neuter. TNR.
Do it early. Do it before the litters are born.

One appointment can change the future for so many lives. 🐱❤️

This is accurate. It’s the bittersweet part of rescue that most people don’t want to think about! When there is a pet overpopulation crisis drastic measures have to be put into place .
We’ve all seen the horrific situations that kittens in the wild encounter.

A few years ago, a family reached out for help. They had nine female cats that were pregnant and they asked if our rescue could help. I said, "Yes! I will give you 𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙀 𝙁𝙍𝙀𝙀 𝙎𝙋𝘼𝙔𝙎!" And they said, "Oh no, we could 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 spay a pregnant cat. That would be awful. We won't do that to the kittens. We will figure something out."

Eight weeks later they reached out, frantic. 😱 They said, "We have 42 kittens and they all need homes immediately. We are handing the kittens out, but there are just so many of them! We are overwhelmed. We cannot afford to feed them all. Some are sick and need antibiotics... We plan to put them all outdoors if you cannot help." 😭

It is SO HARD as a rescuer not to get frustrated and resentful. 𝘞𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘶𝘱𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨. We understand that people feel guilty about it - But if you do not plan to take full responsibility for the kittens and you plan to dump those problems on someone else, you should not be allowing kittens to happen. Full responsibility is spaying/neutering all cats/kittens prior to rehoming. Not calling shelters and rescues and begging them to make room in the middle of kitten season. Not handing out more unfixed kittens in a community without any resources.

Every single one of those kittens... took away a home from another cat that already existed in our community - It cost our organization $4700 to spay/neuter all of those kittens and an additional $900 to fix the Moms ($5600 total and that did not even cover the expenses for the sick kittens 😢)... It used all our kennels, all of our funding, all our manpower... For a month, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀 hit by cars and cats dumped in the woods and cats losing their housing, because someone got to say, "No. I do not agree with spaying a pregnant cat." 😭

Please help the rescues get ahead in 2026. Help your community get ahead. Spay/abort is a controversial topic... But a necessary topic. We are in an overpopulation crisis. We all have to do our part.

Meet Chip — a truly lovely boy who is looking for a second chance at a forever home. 🐱💙

Sadly, Chip is being returned to our organization because the family who adopted him is moving and, heartbreakingly, they are unable to take him with them.

Chip is sweet, mellow, gentle, and loving. He’s a wonderful cat who deserves to have a family of his own — and we would love to find that family quickly, before he has to return to PetSmart.

For a cat, losing the people he knows and loves and then suddenly being placed back into a busy commercial adoption center can be incredibly confusing and stressful. We would much rather see Chip go directly into a loving forever home where he can settle in and feel secure again. 💔

🙏 Please share Chip far and wide. You never know who might see his face and realize he is exactly the kitty they’ve been looking for.

Cat rescue is stressful enough—and it can be incredibly hard on the heartstrings. 💔🐾

This is why we do TNR. ❤️

Every time we spay or neuter a community cat, we prevent another generation of cats from being born into an outdoor life. Each one makes a difference.

We truly hope more people will get involved and learn how to Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR). It’s a wonderful way to give back to your community while helping cats live healthier, safer lives.

Through TNR, cats are:
🐾 Trapped
🐾 Spayed or neutered
🐾 Vaccinated &
🐾 Ear-tipped so they can be identified as fixed
🐾 Returned to the location they know and call home

Once they are fixed, they can no longer contribute to the cycle of endless litters and growing community-cat populations.

It may not be the perfect situation, but for many of these cats, it is the best—and sometimes the only—option they have.

And remember: They didn’t choose this life. 💔🐾

Please support TNR and encourage others to get involved. Anyone can learn how to do it, and every cat you help means fewer kittens born to struggle outdoors.
