invaluable gift. The Allen is a place where life is happening, where sounds of laughter from the afternoon’s activity overflows into the lobby; where a cat can greet you at the door; where a resident can enjoy the afternoon sunshine under the hundred year old oak tree, or enjoy a hot cup of coffee with a loved one. Here, we carry on a tradition of caring, a tradition that creates new memories, memories that are never forgotten. Often times we are asked, “How do you work in a nursing home?” And our response is, “Why not?!” Here at the Allen, we are all a family, a small
community; it’s not long before everyone greets you by your name. This
concept is best summed up by what a resident once said, “the building may be old but you can feel the love here.”
